13498.jpgAlthough Italian crooner and all-around numbskull Tiziano Ferro had seemingly made peace with the Mexican public after the “moustache scandal”, there are some of us who just can’t forget. The beautiful Mexican city of Veracruz for one, which last night, in celebration of this year’s Carnaval, burned an effigy of Ferro to symbolize death to “bad humor”:

Before being burned, the “Mal humor” traveled the main streets of the city’s center, where he was booed by hundreds of people that congregated to kick off the celebration.

Dozens of women congregated in front of Veracruz’s City Hall and celebration with glee the symbolic act.

Tiziano Ferro: Punishment by shaving

1:34 pm By Jennifer Woodard Maderazo · Celebrities| Controversia| mexico · 2 Comments

Italian pop tart Tiziano Ferro has been making the rounds in Mexico to drive the point home that he’s REALLY SORRY about saying that all Mexican women had moustaches. But sometimes pictures speak louder than words:

1160048460_extras_fotos_gente_0.jpgYep, that’s Mr. Inopportune Joke himself, having his pasty white legs shaved on national Mexican television by Otro Rollo host Adal Ramones. Way to preserve your dignity, Tiz! God.

Spain’s El Mundo also points out that prior to the shaving shenanigans, Tiziano was “on the verge of tears”.

David Bisbal afraid to sing rancheras

bisbal.jpgSpanish pop star David Bisbal — an Operación Triunfo graduate and a major hit in Latin America — says he would love to sing rancheras alongside los grandes de la música mexicana, but is afraid it will be taken as an offense by the Mexican people. I guess with the recent controversies that have caused the Mexican public to bite back, “el chico de los rizos de oro” is a little paranoid:

According to the Almería-born singer who now lives in Miami, he would love to record rancheras, but is convinced that many people would see it disrespectful. No one really understands why.

Whatever the reason is, he says it would be a great honor to record this type of music with Mexican artitsts Vicente, Alejandro or Pedro Fernández.

I like how they group Pedro in there as if he were actually part of the family…

I was going to say that the Mexican people had no problem with Rocío Dúrcal singing rancheras, but then again, Bisbal ain’t no Rocío Dúrcal.

I guess Tiziano Ferro and his handlers knew that saying sorry for statements against Mexican women wasn’t going to cut it, so the Italian pop star paid a visit to the Mexican consulate in Milan to “make peace” with Mexico vis a vis the Consul.

Is shaking hands and smiling for a photo going to do it? Next time we see him he’s gonna be dressed like a charro and singing el himno nacional.
