According to Lossip, Mexicana estrella Thalia is gonna strip down como dios la trajo al mundo for People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Other Latino stars who have bared all for animales include Patricia Manterola who posed as a caged tiger calling for boycotts against circuses, Eve Mendes who would rather go naked than wear fur, and Constance Marie, who didn’t strip for PETA but urged spaying & neutering in print and television ads. Rockeros Jaguares lent their voices for a pro-vegetarianism radio spot and tv ads. Television star María Celeste has done a number of radio spots for PETA.

9 Oct 2007Everybody’s favorite princesita, Thalia, gave birth to a baby girl in New York City on Sunday. The little bundle of joy is named Sabrina Sakaë, and according to reports, her middle name means “princess” in Japanese.
Not one to wait around, Thalia called her friend “La Flaca”, Lily Estefan, on the El Gordo y La Flaca TV show to give her the good news.
Thalia was reportedly in labor for some 20 hours, and little Sabrina weighed in at 3.8 kilograms — 8.37 pounds.
As a tribute to Thalia’s newfound motherhood, why not look back at the last time Thalia discovered she was a mom: this classic clip of when Maria found out she was actually Nandito’s mama in that television masterpiece Maria la del Barrio.

Mexican pop star Thalia, also known Mrs. Tommy Mottolla, will give birth to her child in the U.S. for “reasons of safety”, according to her fashion designer, Gustavo Mata:
“The baby will be born outside of Mexico for safety and practical reasons, and also because Thalía is an American citizen and it’s much better for her that it be born there,” said the designer, a longtime friend of the singer.
Thalia can do whatever she wants, but why is it better that it be born here “because she’s an American citizen”? As far as safety is concerned, I guess she’s on guard because of the fact that her sister was kidnapped and Thalia later had to go in and fix the problem.

Ya no es rumor. While Thalia hinted that she was expecting in People En Español a few months back, now the singer has made it official. She’s on the cover of the latest edition of ¡HOLA! announcing that she and hubby, Tommy Mottola, are expecting a baby girl in the fall.
“I feel peace; I feel like a whole, feminine, voluptuous woman. I feel it’s the best body I’ve ever had. I enjoy every new curve I discover every day; it’s amazing,” said Thalía, who posed for the first time showing her long-awaited pregnancy.
Felicidades Thalia!

Mexican singer Thalia isn’t happy with just having a clothing line and candy in her name. She’s now going to tackle the media world with the launch of a radio show.
The Spanish-language show, called “The Conexion Thalia Radio Show,” initially will be a two-hour weekly program focusing on lifestyle and community issues affecting Latinos.
The show is set to debut on March 17 on ABC Radio Networks in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago and Miami and air on Saturday, most likely in the 9 a.m. or noon time slots.
“We’re excited about the partnership with ABC Radio Networks en Espanol, the best-in-class leader in national radio syndication,” said Tommy Mottola, founder of The Mottola Company. “A national radio show gives Thalia another platform to share her unlimited talent and creativity with millions of fans and listeners. I believe this will be a whole new career for her.”

It seems that the best time for a pop group to make a comeback is about 20 years after their peak, when their original followers are adults and can now see them as something nostalgic from their youth, and not the banal pre-fab product machine that they were. Timbiriche, Mexico’s most popular 80s pop group made up of kids — which spawned the careers of Paulina Rubio, Thalia and other less illustrious members — is back and reuniting for a tour. And even Thalia is down for it.
After making a few adjustments in her calendar, Thalia will participate in the reunion of the ex-members of, the band with which she took her first baby steps in the music industry and this year celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Kind makes you feel old, huh?

When performers are told to break a leg, it’s usually not meant literally. Someone forgot to tell pobre de Thalia who may have actually broken a leg. The accident wasn’t on stage though. The Amor a la Mexicana Mexicana was vacationing in Aspen with hubby Tommy Motola when she busted her butt on the slopes.

It seems that Thalia is hasta la madre with the crazy behavior her two sisters have been exhibiting lately in the aftermath of the release of a new book by la Thalis’ sister, Ernestina Sodi, in which she relates the story of her kidnapping.
Thalia’s other sister, actress Laura Zapata went after Ernestina for trying to make a buck off of her own tragedy, and the two have been going at it publicly recently:
The actress blamed her sister Ernestina for publishing the book, ‘Líbranos del mal´, in which she implies that Laura wouldn’t allow the kidnappers to let Sodi go free.
Thalia was supposed to be returning to Mexico for a visit, but cancelled at the last minute, saying via her publicist that she will “wait until the waters calm a bit”.

So much for childhood loyalties. Paulina Rubio and Thalia may have been in Timbiriche together when they were teens, but that doesn’t mean they are homies. Their eternal rivalry has been the stuff of Mexican tabloid covers for decades now. This apparently hasn’t ceased, as Paulina told a radio show — albeit in jest — that if asked to kiss Thalia a la Madonna and Britney, she’d pull a Mike Tyson and bite her ear off:
Paulina Rubio made it clear that she doesn’t like Thalia. In an appearance on the El piolín de la mañana radio show, she was asked who she would allow to kiss her a la Madonna-Britney Spears. The options were Carmen Salinas, la Chupitos or Thalía, to which “la Chica Dorada” responded without hesitation: “Thalía (…) on the ear, but like Mike Tyson,” she said, laughing.
I still remember back in the day when there was a war of words (or of songs) between la Pau and Alejandra Guzmán — and over a guy no less.

While she may not be watching over them directly, recent accusations call into question the conditions under which the Mexican estrella’s clothing collection are manufactured. According to an investigation conducted by the National Labor Committee, there are sweatshops in Jordan engaging in human trafficing, forced labor, and violence against workers. These sweatshops produce clothes with labels for the GAP, Target, Liz Claiborne, Victoria’s Secret, L.L Bean and Thalía Sodi. Thalia, whose clothing line is distributed through K-mart y Sears Holdings responded to the investigation by saying:
