I’m a little bit late on posting this, but it’s important nevertheless. Fred Armisen is just about one of the most irritating a-holes I have ever witnessed. He is a biracial (German and Japanese) man who presents as white who plays every ethnic character in the Saturday Night Line up, including Barack Obama, Prince, and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.

And now, he just put forth this little beauty in which he mocks New York Governor David Paterson:

Paterson rightfully calls out the show by centering the lived experiences of the disabled community and how representations of disability as bumbling and fumbling has consequences:

“I can take a joke,” he told the New York Daily News. “But only 37% of disabled people are working and I’m afraid that that kind of third-grade humor certainly adds to this atmosphere.

“Let’s just say I don’t think it helped,” he said.

More Tina Fey as Sarah Palin…

I dunno, Fey is amusing and all, but I really prefer Will Ferrell as George Bush. Dude, I want to be heavily patriotized.

I’m almost ashamed to say that la Mala can’t usually stay up to watch Saturday Night Live, live. Pero thanks to the magic of the internet, I can watch it anytime including this past weekend that featured the real Sarah Palin, mostly as a prop, kind of like her role in the actual presidential race!

Where are the Libertarians/Greens in these debates?

Far be it from me to rain on the Obama/McCain parade, but I have been wondering what on earth happened to debate broadcasts that include the perspective of *all* candidates running for office, not just the two that the Mainstream Media like the best. Am I the only one that remembers the delish debates in the 90s with Ross Perot?

Saturday Night Live on a Monday Morning

I think the best part was the making fun of both candidates’ position on gay marriage. Gosh darnit.

Election time means political comedy. Sadly, this Saturday Night Live clip from this past weekend may have more truth to it than people want to admit.
