While I was looking for the Dana Carvey video below, I came across this video from the 92 debates with George Bush Sr. and Bill Clinton.
It’s interesting to me that apparently we were in the middle of an economic crisis back then too! And that people are asking great questions in the town hall format that the politicians are doing their best to totally screw up the answer to (Just cuz I’m rich doesn’t mean I don’t touch you people occasionally–ai, dios mio! No wonder he lost!) or perform their way out of answering (Bill was literally salivating on his way to talking to that woman).
The only difference is that a third party candidate is at the debate–but of course the people who edited this video seem to think we don’t really want to hear what Perot had to say, so in a way, we’re really in the same position.
I looked all over for Perot’s answer and couldn’t find it, if somebody has a link, leave it in comments!

8 Oct 2008Far be it from me to rain on the Obama/McCain parade, but I have been wondering what on earth happened to debate broadcasts that include the perspective of *all* candidates running for office, not just the two that the Mainstream Media like the best. Am I the only one that remembers the delish debates in the 90s with Ross Perot?
