My political mentor Richie Perez (RIP), used to say that voting in and of itself was not going to solve all of the injustices in the world, but that voting was a weapon in our toolbox and as such should be used.
In New York State, where I live, the deadline for registering to vote in the upcoming presidential election is fast approaching (October 10th). I know of a friend of mine who went to vote in the local elections earlier this week and didn’t find her name on the registers. So double check!!! Make sure you are registered!
VotoLatino, is good resource for registering and finding out when the deadline to register in your state is.
Use all the weapons in your toolbox! Vote!
