19 Nov 2007Remember Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador, the self-proclaimed legitimate president elect of Mexico? Well yesterday after a rally in his support, Lopez-Obrador followers ran into Mexico City’s main Roman Catholic cathedral, saying that church officials purposely rang the church bells earlier and louder than usual, in order to drown out the Lopez-Obrador rally.
Videos show the Obrador supporters running in the church screaming and jumping over pews that parishioners pushed in front of the oncoming crowd to prevent their entrance. The Sunday noon mass was slightly delayed because of the charge.
