ericholder2qm4.jpgLast month, I wrote about how while Obama’s pick for Attorney General, Eric Holder, was historic because he would be the first African-American Attorney General, he had some issues with Latin America, specifically his defense of Chiquita.

Now the Republicans, who are going to try and block Holder however they can, are bringing up his involvement in another high profile Latin American incident, Elian Gonzalez and his role in Clinton pardoning Puerto Rican nationalists.

ken-salazar.jpgColorado Senator Ken Salazar has reportedly agreed to be Obama’s pick for Secretary of the Interior. All that’s left for the former director of the Colorado Department of Natural Resources is to pass a background check.

Pero the question always remains: Is having a Latino in the cabinet more important than having a progressive in there?

Richardson Expected to be Named Commerce Secretary Today

data.jpgToday it’s expected the President Elect Obama will name his once presidential rival, Bill Richardson, as Secretary of Commerce. Richardson was touted as a strong choice for Secretary of State, a position that went to another Obama once-rival, Hillary Clinton.

Many feel that Obama’s passing over Governor of New Mexico Richardson as Secretary of State was a snub to Latinos, especially given his international experience as United Nations ambassador under the Clinton presidential administration.

Various mainstream news sources are reporting that Clinton is being considered for the Secretary of State post.

What do you all think? A good choice or not? It certainly would make alot of women happy.
