10 Sep 2007For those who chose to watch the Democrats spar bilingually instead of the MTV Video Music Awards last night, Shakira and Beyonce won a moonman for the above collaboration. The exact name of the category is Most Earth Shattering Collaboration. My earth wasn’t shattered , but what do I know.

You know you’re getting old when your daughter knows more of the performers and songs on the MTV Video Music Awards, well at least it makes me feel old. I could count the Latinos presente at the awards on my hands, including Ms. Jennifer Lopez looking oh not so pregnant, in spite of rumores, in a short gold dress and matching head wrap that made her look, in the words of my mami, “a space cadet”. I think we all breathed a Boricua collective sigh of relief when she didn’t sing with hubby Marc Anthony. I’m happy she caught herself saying “masterpeach” cuz that was gonna be my headline for this morning.
