microchip.jpgNo, this is not science fiction. Colombian President Álvaro Uribe may have offered up his people as human guinea pigs to the U.S. government as a way to deal with the immigration “problem”. Telemundo is reporting that the Colombian newspaper El Tiempo claims that in a meeting earlier this year with Republican senators Arlen Specter and Jeff Sessions, Uribe suggested that Colombian migrant workers be implanted with a microchip in order to track them and insure their timely return to their country. The Colombian government is denying that this ever happened, of course, saying that Uribe responded to the Senators’ concerns regarding the timely return of temporary workers by saying:

Well that should be easy for you because thee should be technology to control those things.
