I’ve got a case of deja vu. Didn’t we post this same news back in 2006? That was when Lost star Michelle Rodriguez got sprung from jail because of L.A. jail overcrowding. Well, it must still be really crowded in there, as Rodriguez served only 17 days of her 180-day sentence.
In case you’re just tuning in, Rodriguez was arrested for drunk driving in April of 2006 (and asked the arresting officer to kill her) and was sentenced to 60 days in jail. She served a couple of days, promising to do community service. She never showed, so was sentenced to the 180-day sentence she was serving until her release yesterday.
Way to deter bad behavior, Los Angeles!

We hate to follow a DUI story which followed another DUI story with yet another DUI story, but we though you might want to know that Lost star Michelle Rodriguez won’t be home for the holidays: she’ll be spending them in la pinta.
Rodriguez reported to a Los Angeles County jail on Sunday to begin a six-month sentence for failing to complete community service and alcohol monitoring as part of her probation from a drunken driving incident, authorities said. She was booked into the Century Regional Detention Facility just before 4 p.m., said Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Deputy Aura Sierra. It’s the same jail where Paris Hilton served much of her sentence earlier this year.
Michelle could have avoided this altogether had she not thought she was too good for community service.
Digging around, I found a very interesting post over at A Socialite’s Life which describes, among other things, Michelle’s allergies to “cockroach resin”. Hope she takes her pills before entering jail!

Last week we told you how Lost star Michelle Rodriguez thought she was too good for community service. Well a judge thinks she’s too bad to be on the streets, and has sentenced her to 6 months in jail:
Actress Michelle Rodriguez was slapped with a 180-day prison sentence by a Los Angeles judge on Wednesday for probation violation in a hit-and-run case, justice officials told AFP.The 29-year-old Texas-born star, most famous for her role in hit US television drama “Lost,” must report to jail to begin her sentence by December 24, the Los Angeles city attorney’s office said.
It’s the stuff that show Celebrity Justice is made of. One minute your starring on one of television’s most successful primetime shows, and the next you are behind bars. How does this stuff happen?

Last year Maegan told us about how Lost’s Michelle Rodriguez was granted a get out of jail free card for her drunk driving incident — provided she perform community service. But it looks like Michelle opted to flake on that, and is facing jail again:
Rodriguez went to court Friday to answer to the latest claims by the city attorney’s office, which said the former “Lost” actress submitted a document stating she performed community service on Sept. 25, 2006, but later admitted she was actually in New York City that day.
Rodriguez was in Los Angeles to face the judge who sentenced her to work on a road maintenance crew for the community service portion of her sentence. The judge wasn’t amused:
“I’m not impressed with your completion schedule,” she said. “There were 55 people here in court today and all but very few have completed their responsibilities. They work on much less flexible schedules than you do.”
Yeah, “regular” people don’t have the luxury of taking a month off of work on a highway crew, but they get it done somehow. Why can’t Michelle?

The Advocate, the most widely read gay magazine, has revealed that Lost’s Latina cast member, Michelle Rodriguez has been bitten by the love bug. In an interview with her co-star in BloodRayne(and apparent partner) Kristanna Loken , we get the scoop:
As we sat downstairs in her Los Angeles home, upcoming Advocate cover girl Kristanna Loken—the smoldering star of Terminator 3—found an adorable way of letting us know that she’s involved with her equally sexy BloodRayne costar Michelle Rodriguez. At first Loken, 27—who has a recurring role as lover of Shane (Katherine Moennig) on Showtime’s The L Word this season—affirmed that she’s in a relationship but wouldn’t specify the name or gender. Then we mentioned the tantalizing stories Loken has told in past interviews about getting tight with Rodriguez when they filmed BloodRayne in Romania. Here’s what happened next.
What about all the stuff that was said about you and Michelle on the shoot?
[Laughs, then takes a deep breath] There is the $64,000 question. Um…I don’t even know how to answer that.It seems like you both had a lot of fun partying.
Uh-huh. [Smiles, doesn’t say anything]
OK, your silence says volumes. [Both laugh]
Just don’t look upstairs, OK?
Ooh, OK. You don’t want me to print that?
You can print it. [Laughs again] The very hot housekeeper. No, just joking.
Hmm…hopefully having a gf will help keep Michelle out of jail.

The Latina Lost star was released last Thursday after serving a tiny portion of her 60 day jail sentence for violating her probation by driving under the influence in Hawaii late last year. According to People en Espanol, Michelle Rodriguez actually spent a total of 4 hours and 20 minutes incarcerated. The reason for her release? Overcrowding in the Los Angeles jail system which forced the release of non-violent offenders. Michelle is still required to perform 30 days of community service and will be under probation for 2 years. And where did the star go to celebrate her early release? A bar – of course.

Hit TV show Lost’s Latina actress Michelle Rodriguez (known to Lost fans as Ana Lucia) got locked up today in Hawaii as a result of an unfortunate borrachera back in November of last year:
Maybe Michelle Rodriguez figured jails in Hawaii are nicer than those on the mainland, or maybe there’s another reason the “Lost” actress took five days in a sunny slammer of Hawaii over community service when a judge found her guilty of drunken driving, according to a recent Reuters report.Sentenced Wednesday, she went directly to the Oahu Community Correctional Center, where she is expected to serve her sentence. Rodriguez and “Lost” co-star Cynthia Watros — who play castaways from the other side of the island, where a “Lord of the Flies”-like experience left them in worse straits than the rest of the survivors — were arrested in December “on suspicion of driving under the influence.” The bad girls were arrested separately, but within minutes of each other.
The best part? It ain’t the first time…juicy!
Rodriguez has been on the other side of the law, receiving three years probation in 2004 for three traffic offenses in L.A., including hit-and-run and drunken driving.
I always wondered how they got by without alcohol on that island (and without killing Matthew Fox), but apparently they don’t.
