This is the year of Juanes. His song Me Enamora is the longest-running #1 Latin song of the year. It’s been on the top of the Billboard Hot Latin Songs Chart for three months. His album, La Vida es un Ratico, has sold a million copies and growing. He was nominated for “International Male Artist of the Year” At Frances’ NRJ Awards. He will perform at The Nobel Peace Prize Concert On December 11th and is currently the cover boy on the just-released issue of People en Español’s first ever all digital special issue.
With a year like that Juanes doesn’t need new year’s resolutions. He needs to just keep on doing what he’s been doing.

Today the much anticipated new Juanes album, La Vida es un Ratico, is out. The first single off the album, Me Enamora, has been breaking all sorts of records, holding a top spot for weeks in a row in the U.S. and at least 13 other countries.
I’ve been listening to the new album with my morning coffee and Juanes’ sound on la Vida is refreshing and different from his previous albums. I would say its not as dancy but rather shows a more mature Juanes with strong rock and even reggae influences. Juanes even gets political with a song about land mines, Minas Piedras, an issue he’s been working on for a while now.
My favorite song from the album, this morning Tres has me moving my hips.
So go and check out Juanes because la Vida really is un ratico no mas and shouldn’t we fill it with good music?
P.S.- Someone needs to tell iTunes that Juanes is not in the genre of reggaeton and hip hop.
Juanes’ new album, La Vida es Un Ratico, doesn’t drop till, but the first single off of it, Me Enamora , is already the #1 Latin song in the country. Today the video for that single debuts on Univision’s “Primer Impacto” at 5 pm EST and MTV Tr3all day. Watch it and tell us what you think.
