JLo‘s got a new TV dance show out, and so does ex hubby Cris Judd: coincidence? I think not:
Judd’s show is the reality competition “Dirty Dancing” on the Women’s Entertainment cable channel, airing Wednesdays at 10 p.m. EST. Lopez is producing MTV’s “DanceLife,” about six aspiring dancers struggling to make it. The eight-episode series premieres Jan. 15 at 10:30 p.m.Judd’s show was inspired by the ’80s classic “Dirty Dancing,” starring
Jennifer Grey as rich girl Baby and Patrick Swayze as poor dance instructor Johnny. The premise: Eighteen women compete at a summer camp for a dance contract and the right to play Baby — to whichever professional ballroom dancer becomes Johnny — during the finale.

If you are planning on having JLo play your birthday party, you better be on time, or she’ll make you pay dearly:
Jennifer Lopez thought she be would charging one and a half million dollars to play at the birthday party of a Russian millionaire. His lateness made the performance even more expensive: 2 million dollars.People En Español magazine says that the celebration took place one week ago in Moscow for the birthday of millionaire Telman Izmailov.
The original sum was to be 1.5 million dollars, but since the Puerto Rican diva had to wait to perform because of the hosts, she began charging $200,000 for each 10 minutes they were late.
Spain’s 20 Minutos reports that Itar Tass, a Russian news agency, reported that the host, after the performance, gave JLo a gaudy diamond encrusted microphone. Right up her alley! She should have given the poor guy a discount.

A few months ago everyone was buzzing about whether or not JLo was pregnant. She even talked about adopting a baby from Puerto Rico, but it seems she’s going to try to have not one, but TWO of her own, according to Spain’s 20 Minutos:
Singer and actress Jennifer López wants to have two children at the same time with her husband, salsero Marc Anthony, according the The Sun.To that end, López, 37, is undergoing fertility treatment at Cedars-Sinai clinic in Los Ángeles.
Jennifer is backing up that treatment with a strict diet based on prganic products.
According to 20 Minutos, the treatment is costing JLo thousands of dollars. I’m sure she can afford it, though.

Marc Anthony receives song from beyond the grave

I love the way Marc Anthony and JLo make my job so much easier. Mondays are always tough, but Marc and JLo help me along by doing and saying weird stuff on a consistent enough basis, making posting great gossip to VL that much easier. Case in point: JLo’s hubby believes that Spanish music legend Rocío Durcal is communicating with him from beyond the grave, and ordering him to listen to a song she wrote for JLo, according to Spain’s 20 Minutos:
Marc Anthony claims that Rocío Dúrcal appeared to him in dreams and asked him to listen to a song that she had written for his wife, singer and actress Jennifer Lopez.Anthony claims that the strange dream took place two weeks after the singer’s death. According to the composer (Anthony), he got out of bed and recorded his own voice on an answering machine humming the song that Dúrcal sent him, including the title, “Qué hiciste”.
Jennifer Lopez thought for months about what she could do with the song, and finally decided to include it on her last Spanish album, “Cómo ama una mujer”.
Sounds like Marc Anthony is competing for the honor of the Latino world’s Tom Cruise.

JLo quits Dallas

Months ago we told you that JLo had been cast in the movie remake of the hit 70s TV drama Dallas. Well, that didn’t last long, as apparently Jenny abruptly left the set this week, never to return:
Dallas the TV series was the site of endless dramas, abrupt disappearances and untoward reappearances. Early evidence suggests that Dallas the motion picture will be no different after star Jennifer Lopez mysteriously bailed from the project this week.“She is out of Dallas,” confirmed Lopez’s representative Leslie Sloane Zelnick yesterday. Lopez had been due to play the boozy, woozy Sue Ellen opposite John Travolta (as JR). Other possible cast members include Luke Wilson (as Bobby) and Shirley MacLaine (as Miss Ellie).
The UK’s Guardian also reports that JLo isn’t the first casuality of this production, which also lost its original director earlier in the year.

JLo‘s is in court trying to make sure a tell-all book about her vida sexual by ex-husband Ojani Noa doesn’t get published.
“Sadly, no personal detail is too sacred to be sold by Noa for profit,” state the papers filed by Lopez’s attorney, Paul N. Sorrell, according to the Associated Press. “Noa will do anything within his power to make money off his ex-wife. He is out of control.”
Pobrecitos, Argentina lost to Germany in the World Cup Quarter Finals. I know who I was rooting for, so this makes me sad. Now on to Brazil vs. France tomorrow. (World Cup Blog — a really good site!)

Jennifer Lopez is less powerful this year compared to last, at least according to Forbes magazine. In the magazine’s recently published list of the 100 most powerful celebs, Jenny from the block ranked #59, down from her spot of #24 the year before. Apparently her music, perfume, clothes, and movies aren’t what they used to be. Other Latinos on the list include Eva Longoria along with the rest of her Desperate Housewives cast at #34, Cameron Díaz at #70, Brazilian Futbolero Ronaldinho at #53 and funny man George López at number 85.

Crooks who stole JLo’s wedding video: guilty

Ah yes, folks, the first JLo post of the week. Apparently we missed this back when it originally happened, but it seems that some fools decided to steal JLo and Marc Anthony’s wedding video and then “hold it ransome” for a million dollars. The goons have plead guilty to the crime:
One of two New Jersey men who were arrested after they allegedly tried to sell Marc Anthony and Jennifer Lopez’s stolen wedding video back to the couple for $1 million pleaded guilty Wednesday to attempted grand larceny.Tito Moses, 31, an ex-convict from Newark, admitted in Manhattan’s state Supreme Court that he tried to get a $1 million ransom for the stolen video. He said he and an accomplice negotiated with a man they thought was a Lopez-Anthony representative.
The “representative” was in fact an undercover detective, prosecutors said.
The judge in the case says the crooks will be looking at 1 1/2 to three years in the slammer for swiping the laptop containing the video from Marc’s Cadillac Escalade back in 2005, then later trying to sell it back to JLo and Marc’s “associate” for one million dollars.

Marc Anthony shoves reporter to protect JLo

He may look like a little shrimp of a man, but don’t mess with Marc Anthony — or worse — his wife JLo. Marc apparently got in a scuffle with a photographer who was pursuing his wife last week at an awards ceremony:
The irate star yelled at photographers to keep their distance outside the Women in Film Awards in Century City, Calif., but exploded as one pushed him out of the way to get closer to his wife.Lopez, who was hailed for her charity work at the event, had briefly stopped for a photo with co-host Nicola Maramotti.
A source tells the New York Daily News, “One photographer shoved Marc as he was trying to break through the crowd to get the photo.
“Marc fumed ‘Don’t ever push me again, and step back! Step back away from them’
“He physically shoved one guy back.”
I’d like to see a tape of this, but the way it’s told here sounds like he’s overreacting a la Sean Penn in the Madonna days.
