Gonna be late? JLo says “pay up!”

If you are planning on having JLo play your birthday party, you better be on time, or she’ll make you pay dearly:

Jennifer Lopez thought she be would charging one and a half million dollars to play at the birthday party of a Russian millionaire. His lateness made the performance even more expensive: 2 million dollars.

People En Español magazine says that the celebration took place one week ago in Moscow for the birthday of millionaire Telman Izmailov.

The original sum was to be 1.5 million dollars, but since the Puerto Rican diva had to wait to perform because of the hosts, she began charging $200,000 for each 10 minutes they were late.

Spain’s 20 Minutos reports that Itar Tass, a Russian news agency, reported that the host, after the performance, gave JLo a gaudy diamond encrusted microphone. Right up her alley! She should have given the poor guy a discount.

Remember the 2005 Grammy awards? Remember Skeletor and his wife singing together? Then you remember how bad it was but apparently they didn’t! DListed has some pics from the latest stop in the Juntos en Concierto tour, featuring Marc Anthony, Marco Antonio Solis, and Laura Pausini. It seems that last night J. Lo. and hubby shared a duet. As soon as they took Alejandro Fernandez off the Juntos en Concierto lineup, it was a wash for me. Now I’m really glad I haven’t attended this year’s version.

Jennifer%20Lopez.jpg Last week our own Jenny from the block reported that Jennifer Lopez was not doing the film version of Dallas. This week we may know why. Various bochinche websites are reporting that the NYC rag, the NY Post wrote that J. Jo. thought…:

The script sucks. And John Travolta? If it had been a man’s man like Ed Harris or Tommy Lee Jones, but you don’t just go from doing ‘Hairspray’ to ‘Dallas’.

Jennifer Lopez is widely known for her careful script selection. Right?

JLo quits Dallas

Months ago we told you that JLo had been cast in the movie remake of the hit 70s TV drama Dallas. Well, that didn’t last long, as apparently Jenny abruptly left the set this week, never to return:

Dallas the TV series was the site of endless dramas, abrupt disappearances and untoward reappearances. Early evidence suggests that Dallas the motion picture will be no different after star Jennifer Lopez mysteriously bailed from the project this week.

“She is out of Dallas,” confirmed Lopez’s representative Leslie Sloane Zelnick yesterday. Lopez had been due to play the boozy, woozy Sue Ellen opposite John Travolta (as JR). Other possible cast members include Luke Wilson (as Bobby) and Shirley MacLaine (as Miss Ellie).

The UK’s Guardian also reports that JLo isn’t the first casuality of this production, which also lost its original director earlier in the year.

J-Lo’s Ex Can’t Tell the Difference Between Santeria and Voodoo

What would a U.S. national holiday be without a little bit of bochinche to get you through the day? Jennifer Lopez‘s first ex-hubby, Ojani Noa, claims that Jenny from the block was doing trabajitos against people like P. Diddy, Diddy, Puff Daddy or whatever the hell he’s calling himself these days. According to the Smoking Gun website:

Noa testified that Lopez “was doing voodoo when we weren’t married. She was doing bad things to a lot of people when we were friends. And I knew all this time, because we did personally, me and her, to this particular lady.” Noa added that Lopez did voodoo and “all this religious bullshit” to former lovers, including Sean “Puffy” Combs. The purported voodoo practices apparently stem from Lopez’s religious devotion and the influence over her by a “Madrina,” which is often described as a spiritual mentor for Santeria practitioners.

See Noa lost all cred with me because of course Madrina could just be godmother not to mention the fact that Vodoun and Lucumi (aka Santeria) are two completely separate (but related) religions. Pero that’s a whole other post.

Ah bochinche as American as apple pie.

In the magazine’s recently published list of the 100 most powerful celebs, Jenny from the block ranked #59, down from her spot of #24 the year before. Apparently her music, perfume, clothes, and movies aren’t what they used to be. Other Latinos on the list include Eva Longoria along with the rest of her Desperate Housewives cast at #34, Cameron Díaz at #70, Brazilian Futbolero Ronaldinho at #53 and funny man George López at number 85.

In more Jennifer Lopez bochinche – According to Female First Mrs. Jenny from the block is set to produce her own dance reality show (because there is nothing funnier than watching people who can’t dance dancing) with MTV which will be directly competeing with another dance reality show produced by her ex-hubby Chris Judd.

She’s still not pregnant Jenny from the block. Last week Jen wrote about how Jennifer Lopez was feeling a little blue everytime she spotted her ex and how greying roots may be a sign that she’s expecting. Pics published over at Hollywood Rag show that if la Lopez is depressed, shopping therapy seems to work for her and how not getting your hair done doesn’t mean that you’re knocked up, maybe just a little busy.

It’s being reported that Eva Longoria and Jennifer Lopez will be playing sisters in an as yet untitled film set to begin shooting in September. The movie, a comedy, is about two Hollywood star hermanas who try to cut each other down during a feud. No word if they will be cursing each other in Spanish the way I often do in fights with my sister.

Latinos all over the world got teary eyed watching Gustavo Santaolalla (seen celebrating here with la bella Mexicana, Salma Hayek) get an Oscar for Best Original Score. Not only is he one of ours representing proud in an industry where often only a few token talents are allowed, he proudly proclaimed who he was on stage in his acceptance speech and made all Latinos feel like his Oscar was our Oscar. Felicidades Gustavo! I don’t think I’ve ever been more in love with an Argentino.
