As the immigration debate rages on within the halls of the U.S. Congress and within the country at large, many within the immigrant community and those working in solidarity with them are using different tactics to show their power and express their opinion. There have been mass protests, marches, and walkouts from coast to coast and there are calls for continued action until those who have built their lives and worked in the U.S. are guaranteed basic human rights regardless of their status. On Tuesday, a coalition of Latinos called for there to be no labor on May Day, May 1st.
