Japi Nuevo Año From VivirLatino

31 Dec 2008

2008 was an amazing year full of cambios and growth for VivirLatino and we are happy that you, our readers, amigos and amigas, have been a part of it.

Jenifer and I started out as editors here 3 years ago and in 2008 we became owners of the site.
Doing so meant writing more about things we love, taking on more work and learning alot.

We had some amazing guest bloggers who stepped up and represented, including CindyLu , Estevan at the DNC, and an Urban Jibaro.

We expanded our presence. We became Twitterputas (with Mala officially addicted). We were on T.V.,twice! Mala couldn’t shut her mouth, speaking in bookstores, universities (twice), and to women about mami’hood.

We traveled more than ever. We attended the LAMC and traveled to Detroit for the Allied Media Conference (much love to all my radical woc who made me weep and inspired me). We got all political at The Democratic National Convention, and survived thanks to Liza, Kai, and Nezua. We hung with John Leguizamo and thought he was kind of a dick.

We made the VL familia a little bigger gracias to our newest kickass editor La Macha (even if she is a little Salma obsessed).

Wow, writing this made me realize that we really have accomplished alot and made me grateful for the wonderful team we have here at VL. It made me grateful for all the friends and supporters we have in the blogmundo, and it made me hopeful for the next year.

Amor y Paz con Justicia
Feliz Año
