Que Que? Fox News to Start a Latino News Site?

1:33 pm By Maegan la Mamita Mala · Media · 4 Comments

How do you say “no comprendo” in racist.

I’ve read at least three reports on how Fox News is launching a Latino website called “Fox News Latino”.

“About a third of the country is going to be of Latino heritage by 2050 and we thought it was time to launch a site with more of a focus,” said Michael Clemente, Fox News’ senior vice president of news editorial.

I’m not stressing this becoming competition for VivirLatino pero que en carajo does Fox News know about Latinos? Since when has Fox News ever been fair or respectful of the Latino community? Y que? Ahora they well talk shit about us in Spanish or Spanglish or will they use this as more proof of how much Republicans really love Latinos, well certain Latinos, good Latinos? My guess is that Fox Latino will also feature Latino vendecomunidades who will say how much they are against “amnesty”, etc.

Both Sides of the Prop 8 Debate

Want to hear some intelligent debate on the Prop 8 issue? Well, you’ve come to the wrong place. I just wanted to call attention to what Fox News attempts to pass off as intelligent debate these days. Check it out.

But could you really expect more from Glenn Beck? “M&Ms and donuts”…yeah….

Last weeks Maegan asked if some controversial posters about Obama were offensive or if they made you think. Now I’ve got something from you that isn’t up for interpretation. Fox News does it again:

I’m against censorship, but this is disgusting and this person should go down. If you want to help achieve that, there’s a petition.

Fox News thinks bloggers are evil

9:32 pm By Jennifer Woodard Maderazo · Blogs|Media · 2 Comments

And Bill O’Reilly thinks bloggers are “radical Internet assassins”. Have a laugh with this collection of asinine Fox News soundbites, then bask in the guilty pleasure of being a reader of such an evil publication, just another a “vicious far left website”.

geraldo_rivera.jpgLast Thursday night, Geraldo Rivera and Bill O’Reilly — “journalist” buddies on the Fox News Network – did something that two personalities on that network seldom do: disagree with each other. Fervently.

The topic was the death of two Virginia teenagers as the result of an automobile accident caused by a drunk driver who just happened to be an undocumented immigrant.

Normally conservative Geraldo went out on a limb (for a Fox News personality) to accuse O’Reilly of blaming the fact that the driver was in the U.S. illegally for the death of the victim.

Video after the jump.

“Build a wall” with “cheap labor”

coulter-735376.jpgHate has a variety of faces in today’s media; you’ve got your Lou Dobbs, your Michael Savage, and a personal fave, Bill O’Reilly. Bill’s not just about skewering liberals with his double speak and accusatory “interviews” — he also likes to stick his bigoted friends on the show as well. MediaMatters brings us a delightful little transcript of an exchange between O’Reilly and “conservative commentator” Ann Coulter:

O’REILLY: In the “Personal Story” segment tonight, conservative commentator and author Ann Coulter has some strong views on illegal immigration, and here she is. It’s a big mess, that’s for sure. Where do you stand on it as far as what would you like to see done?

COULTER: I’d build a wall. In fact, I’d hire illegal immigrants to build the wall. And throw out the illegals who are here.

O’REILLY: You would throw them out.

COULTER: I can’t even –

O’REILLY: You would throw them out.

COULTER: Yeah.

O’REILLY: So –

COULTER: Yes.

O’REILLY: The wall, I got — I mean, you’re being sarcastic with the illegal aliens. But the wall is –

COULTER: No. It’s cheap labor.

Can anyone remember a time when there was so much hate in the media? Cable news has done nothing but help feed this sort of thing. It’s pretty sad that when you sit down to watch a “news” channel, all you can get these days is a bunch of lamebrain hate-filled rhetoric and no real dialogue. Disgusting.

Read the whole piece and watch the video on the MediaMatters site.
