Eva Longoria, everyone’s favorite ama de casa is getting political. She plans to broach the controversial topics of immigration and slavery in a new documentary to be produced by Eva herself:
Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria is tackling America’s controversial immigration issues head on in a new film after learning that fellow Latinos are being roped into slavery. The actress accepts she has become a role model for the Latin community and she wants to affect change in the lives of immigrants living well below the poverty line in the US.
She says: “I work a lot with the National Council of La Raza, which is the largest Latino civil rights organisation in the country and I work a lot with the United Farm Workers.
“I’ve been in the fields with these people and I’ve tried to experience a day in the life of these people. I’m producing a documentary on the labour workers.”
Say what you will about a rich Hollywood star “spending the day” with laborers, the fact is Eva seems to be standing up (like other celebs) for the oppressed, voiceless immigrant population whose labor keeps this country’s economy chugging along. Bravo, Eva!

It’s being reported that Eva Longoria and Jennifer Lopez will be playing sisters in an as yet untitled film set to begin shooting in September. The movie, a comedy, is about two Hollywood star hermanas who try to cut each other down during a feud. No word if they will be cursing each other in Spanish the way I often do in fights with my sister.

Eva Longoria used to hunt, and I’m not talking underage gardeners like her Desperate Houswives character Gabriela Solis. As a child, Eva’s papi used to take her hunting for deer, quail, snakes, pigs and bunnies, the first kill she ever made. Eva said :
I remember the first thing I killed was a little bunny. I cried for days and days. think I was eight at the time.

Add this to the celeb with a cause file except for Eva Longoria, it’s also personal. The Desperate Housewife star recently spoke out against disabled prejudice citing the example of her 37-year-old sister Elizabeth, who was born with Down’s Syndrome. Longoria said:
People think that if you are mentally retarded then it’s a great shame and you can’t play any part in life. I would like to educate people because that just isn’t true. It is never about what Elizabeth can’t do, it is about what she can do.

Men everywhere will rejoice upon the news that the Sofia Vergara wil return to the small screen for their viewing pleasure. You thought you had lost her with the cancellation of her show, Hot Properties, but Sofia’s set to come back (and contrary to her last venture) on a hit show:
Todos tenemos derecho a una segunda oportunidad y aunque con sus Propiedades calientes (Hot Properties) en la televisión estadounidense no pudo lograr el éxito esperado, Sofía Vergara intentará demostrar esta vez que además de su singular belleza, también tiene mucho talento y al parecer ahora formará parte de la serie Desperate Housewives de la cadena ABC.

If your a mujer you may want to make sure that Eve Longoria is on your guest list because apparently she gives some rocking regalos. The New York Post’s Page Six column reported earlier this week that the desperate housewife likes to give sex toys as gifts. Eva dice:
I have, like, 50 boxes of them and I give them away to everybody.
I just have one question. Will she give some to Latina bloggers who write about her?

Desperate Housewife isn’t so desperate anymore, at least nor for an orgasm. According to the Texican star, her sex life was lacking until she had a Brazilian bikini wax. I don’t know what Ms. Longoria was doing before her hair removal miracle but if she needed that to get her groove on in bed, bueno, more power to her.

17 Jan 2006For those that doubt that Latinas are among the most beautiful mujeres in the world, I suggest looking at our representatives on the red carpet of last night’s Golden Globe Awards, like Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria.

First time nominee, Desparate Housewife Eva Longoria wore Bob Mackie. Española Penelope Cruz looked stunning as well.
