According to People magazine, actress Eva Longoria is spilling the beans, and to Playboy no less. Unfortunately, she isn’t saying much of anything scandalous at all, but instead revealing how she’s “not pregnant” and telling about how she called the makers of Zip Loc to complain about a box of defective plastic bags:
Despite the success of her show, “I’m still really frugal, which is funny,” she says – citing how rather than simply buy a new box she once called the manufacturer to complain that “every zipper was broken in a box of Ziploc bags I was using.” The result? “They sent me five free boxes. I felt better. It’s the principle of the matter.”
Of her long distance relationship with San Antonio Spurs player Tony Parker, Eva says:
“We use our Sidekicks to send photos, which of course we’re keep clean. We’re both so afraid of anything obscene turning up on the Internet.”
Snooze….

Earlier this month we wrote about how Latinos, including Eva Longoria, were nowhere to be found on the Emmy nominee roster. Seems the desperate ama de casa is so pissed off at the snub that she is boycotting the Emmy Awards ceremony. This is the second year in a row that the Texican has been passed over.

Living in a female dominated familia, I know first hand that there is nothing scarier or funnier than a Latina mujer, that’s why I’m looking forward to checking out Hot Tamales Live tonight at the Laugh Factory. Hot Tamales Live is a comedy variety show produced by Eva Longoria, Kiki Melendez and Maria Bravo. That’s right, Ms. Desperate ama de casa has her hand in this but don’t think this is something new for her. Hot Tamales live has been selling out over in Los Angeles since 2002 and has been credited with helping hone her comic acting skills.

Seems like Eva Longoria is desperate, desperate to get her hands into every type of industry she can. The latest bochinche is that the Texican actress is planning on penning an erotic novel. According to the Perez Hilton Eva said:
They offered a huge deal and I like the idea of seeing my book on a shelf. The plot’s top secret so far but let’s just say I have a wild imagination.
How much you wanna bet this book isn’t going to win any lit awards?

Nothing stereotypical here. Just a bunch of scantily clad latinas (and one latina wannabe) shakin’ their asses. Wasn’t the idea of this award show abot positive Latino images and we’re watching people clapping for hip shaking? Uuuy and Paulina Rubio can’t sing – at least not in English anyway. That was the worse opening number I’ve ever seen.
What is up with all of Eva Longoria‘s giggling and what is Jessica Simpson doing looking like a carrot at the ALMA awards? The daughter on Gilmore Girls is Latina? She’s nominated as outstanding actress in a television series. The winner, Judy Reyes, just called out why the hell Jessica Simpson is there.

It’s like a car wreck, those stories about celebs behaving badly and regardless if you buy them or not, they certainly are fun to imagine. Defamer is reporting that Eva Longoria was chilling at a bar with Saved by the Bell‘s Mario Lopez (remember him- I think the last thing he did was Pet Star) and Eva was not to happy she had to ::gasp:: pay the bill. According to the report:
Eva was sullen and refused to talk with anyone. When the waitress gave her a $17 bill, she handed over a hundred dollar bill and when the waitress brought back her change, Eva grabbed her changed, snipped at the waitress that “Celebrities should be comped!” and stalked out without even leaving a tip.
True or not, shouldn’t at the very least Mario payed?

No entiendo why everyone is so surprised when a Latina makes it on the Hot 100 list of the numerous men’s magazines out on the market. Doesn’t everyone realize we’re hot? Regardless, Maxim released it’s Seventh Annual “Hot 100″ list with Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria at #1 for a record breaking second year in a row. Other Latinas making the top 10 include Jessica Alba at #2 and Cameron Diaz at #7. Now if only the mass media would pay attention to Latinas on other Hot 100 lists.

The NCLR Alma Awards, yet another Latino awards event that deemed VL not worthing of inviting, took place last night in Los Angeles. Hosted by Eva Longoria, the awards were attended by a whos-who list of Latino celebs. Check out some great photos at Spain’s El Mundo.
Unfortunately I haven’t been able to find a press release announcing the winners, and the website has not been updated to reflect the results of the awards. I guess they are wanting to keep results under wraps until the show airs on June 5th, but a bit chafa, if you ask me.
The L.A. Times’ Tom O’Neil apparently had the same problem, but he’s done some of the dirty work to put together a list of some of the people who received an Alma award last night. Here’s a taste, then visit Tom’s blog for more:
BEST ACTOR IN A FILM
Clifton Collins, Jr. “Capote”
Benicio Del Toro, “Sin City”
X – Michael Pena, “Crash”
BEST ACTRESS IN A FILM

Eva Mendes, “Hitch”

Eva Longoria is winning her stars back in my book. After pissing off a bunch of people when she allegedly made some negative comments about a Latino cop, Eva’s bounced back. First, news that she was producing a documentary about the plight of farmworkers. Now she’s proving us wrong when we said that no celebs were stepping up to talk about the immigration debate; she did just that on today’s edition of the CBS Morning Show:
It’s a shame,” she told Smith, “because we’re the land of immigrants. I think it’s kind of an oxymoron to be fighting this battle about immigrants when everybody is traced back to an immigrant at one time or another. And you (Smith) wouldn’t be here if your ancestors hadn’t had a chance.
“So why not give these people a chance? And you know, I grew up in South Texas (Corpus Christi), where I didn’t cross the border. The border crossed us. So we were Mexicans. And then, one day, we were Americans. And that doesn’t change who you are.
“The border crossed us” — I love it. Reminiscent of the famous “Plymouth Rock landed on us” quote by Malcolm X.

Why does it always seem that as soon as someone says “I’m in love! I’m going to be with this person forever!” that declaration marks the first moment of a downward spiral — the beginning of the end? Don’t tell that to Eva Longoria, who’s flaunting her amor para siempre plans in all of our faces:
Eva Longoria is a relationship kind of woman – and says she expects to stay with her beau, San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker “forever.”“I’d much rather be in a relationship,” the Desperate Housewives star tells PEOPLE. “There’s no way in the world I would rather be single. Tony is too. I’ve said the only reason Tony and I are going to stay together forever is because we’re too lazy to look for someone else.”
Let’s hope (23 year-old) Tony doesn’t get unlazy and pull a Kobe Bryant on her.
