24 Apr 2008Futbol legend Diego Maradona reacted to being closed in on my journalists as he left a Buenos Aires courthouse by kicking and cursing. La Mano de Dios was leaving an arbitration hearing with his former manager. What really set Maradona off was the treatment of his ex-wife Claudia Villafane.
No se, for all his controversies, if I were being surrounded in a crowd like that I’d be kicking and cursing too. Pero, why doesn’t he have bodyguards or something?

We already saw the love between Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez and el mano de dios, Diego Maradona at the Copa America. Well they want to share the love via the airwaves. Diego Maradona has been invited on as a guest on Aló Presidente, Hugo Chavez’s Sunday television and radio show. Rumors are circulating that Maradona is being considered to be the technical director of the Venezuelan national soccer team.

A couple of weeks ago we told you that soccer legend Diego Maradona had been admitted to a Buenos Aires hospital for acute hepatitis, a result of heavy alcohol consumption. Now his doctors are saying that La mano de Dios can leave the hospital, but will have to check into a psychiatric facility to continue his treatment, something that it seems Maradona does not want to do. According to his physician:
“He’s more communicative. He’s accepting things and is aware of the seriousness of his current state, but we are still trying to convince him that he needs to go to a psychiatric clinic. He can’t be convinced in one day, as he’s very “special”, said Cahe.

It’s turning out to be a really hard year for soccer legend Diego Maradona. First we heard last month that he was being investigated by Argentine tax authorities. Then, a few days ago, Maradona was hospitalized for “excessive ingestion of food and alcohol”. Now it seems that things are only getting worse for la mano de Dios, as he’s been diagnosed with severe Hepatitis:
Diego Maradona will remain hospitalized for at least 15 more days, according to his personal doctor, Alfredo Cahe, who says that on Sunday the ex-soccer player showed the beginnings of a “clinical improvement and improvement in analyses”.“Late yesterday I became more calm,” Cahe told Radio Mitre of Buenos Aires, who said that Maradona’s entry into the hospital this time is “different from previous times.”
Cahe also says that Diego is still planning to take that trip to Switzerland Mala told us about recently, in an attempt to come off the toxic subtances he’s been ingesting lately and get back in health. Maybe he should start hanging out more with his friend Hugo?

Argentino Futbol legend, Diego Maradona, is making headlines again, this time for his weight, which according to his official doctor has nothing to do with his cocaine addiction. The once fit now flabby Maradona is looking to “vacation” in Switzerland to take off some pounds.
Maradona gained weight in recent weeks because of carelessness, but his medical tests last week were fine, his personal physician, Dr. Alfredo Cahe, told Buenos Aires’s Radio 10.
“There was a failure on Maradona’s part to stick to his diet. That’s why we’re planning a vacation. We’re looking into whether it would be possible for him to leave the country for a little while to get away from his friends and entourage,” Cahe said. The retired soccer star will undergo treatment to deal with the fluid retention that has affected him recently, the doctor said.
You have to love the use of euphemisms. “Vacation” and “fluid retention” or just another stint in rehab? Or maybe “el mano de dios” is trying to escape legal troubles at home?
