Yesterday, New York State swore in it’s 55th governor, David Paterson. He is the first African-American governor in the Empire State and the first legally blind governor in the country. He has a strong reputation as a progressive and is stepping in after Eliot Spitzer resigned following being caught by the Feds paying for sex. All this just in time to pass a New York State budget.
So what’s the first big agenda item Paterson is going to tackle? Education? The economy? Nope, his own affair.
