Oh no. Mel Gibson totally exoticising Maya culture. Nice way to start the Oscars off. A little racism goes a long way.
Oh my are they totally playing up the gay angle ,riding off the Brokeback Mountain hype although I will say I would love to wake up with Jon Stewart and George Clooney.
8:07 – I haven’t gotten a good laugh out of Jon yet and looking at the faces of the stars as the camara pans the audience, they haven’t laughed either. Oh mira Meryl Streep is sitting behind George Clooney.
8:09 – Finally a political joke out of Jon Stewart. Oh there’s another one about Bjork getting shot by Dick Cheney.
8:12- LATINO SIGHTING. I just saw Marc Anthony’s cara behind Jaime Foxx. I did not see la Lopez though. She’s presenting tonight.
8:14- The gay cowboy montage is pretty funny I must admit. I mean if nothing else Brokeback has led people to analyze how much much homoeroticism is present in pop culture and that there’s nothing wrong with it.
Nicole Kidman is so white that I can’t tell where her ivory dress ends and her skin begins. She’s presenting Best Supporting Actor. Personally I’m all about George Clooney pero a ver. Jake Gyllenhaal looks yummy though. Yeah!! Jorge Clooney wins his first Oscar!!! Oh mira his speech is political tambien. No fluffiness here.
Commercial….I need to put away the left over pizza.

Jaime Foxx looking sharp with his shades, plugging his album and with his arm around his sis. I feel bad because I was thinking in my head before I heard who he was with “Who is his ugly date??”
The show is about to start apparently and everyone’s favorite wannabe Latino Joaquin Phoenix apparently is in the front row.
I can’t wait to hear what Jon Stewart is going to say. I hope he doesn’t tone down the politics for the non-cable audience.

I heart E! but I am so glad that their coverage is done for now. The switching channels back and forth between multiple pre-shows was stressing me.
Ryan Philippe and mujer Reese Witherspoon are such a lovely couple.
7:38: I was just watching the montage of romantic couples from this year’s films and I don’t know what made me gag more: scenes from the revisionist Pocahonta’s film, The New World or scenes from King Kong. I am proud to say I haven’t seen either.

Speaking of papis, Matt Dillon , nominated in the catagory of Actor in a Supporting Role for his work in Crash looks hot in a tux. Bueno I think most hombres look amazing in a tux. Pero to be honest so far George Clooney , up for numerous awards as an actor, director and screenwriter takes the cake as best looking man so far.
Ay Jessica Alba just flashed across the tv screen, becoming the first Latina we’ve seen so far tonight (even though I heard she doesn’t like the Latina label). She’s wearing a beige strappy dress and her hair…you guessed it, swept up. She’s a presenter tonight.
Ay llego la pizza. It smells so good.
Ludacris whose real neam is Chris Bridges (who knew!!??) is wearing a black velvet suit. Just looking at him, me da calor and I don’t mean that in a good way. Isn’t he hot?

Rachel Weisz, nominated in the catagory of Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in The Constant Gardener, has already walked down the red carpet wearing a very simple but very nice dress. Her stroll down the carpet has led to speculation that black is going to be the color of the evening. Also the word is that most mujeres are going to do with their hair what we saw so many of the artistas doing on the carpet at Premio lo Nuestro, updos and ponytails.
I was also watching yummy Tyson Beckford on E! taking his shirt off for charity. Que papi! Did you know that last summer Tyson Beckford was in the apartment building of yours truely filming a television show? I have the pics to prove it.

Even though the Academy Awards are over two hours from actually starting, there are stars walking the red carpet already! If there were such a thing as a Latino Academy Awards would our peeps be so prompt?
