14 Jan 2009You’ve heard of athletes using steroids to soup up their game, but what about Viagra? Well one Brazilian soccer team is about to get a prescription for the wonder drug, allegedly to help them fight the effects of altitude sickness. Yeah…
The possibility was admitted by the club’s doctor in the city of Porto Alegre, Alarico Endres, who has been studying if the blue pill might help oxygenization of the blood in athletes and help reduce the effects of altitude.According to Endres, some specialists believe that the remedy used by men with erectile problems can benefit athleses who need better blood oxygenization in adverse conditions.
“Based on assumptions we won’t do anything, but if research shows scientifically that Viagra improves performance in [high] altitude, we can offer it to players,” said Endres.
I don’t want to think about the atmosphere in the locker room after one of these “altitude” treatments. Look what happens in the commercial when only ONE person is on the stuff!

13 Jan 2009Actor Will Smith was in Spain and stopped by a ridiculous show called El Hormiguero to promote his new movie, which I have no idea what it’s called in English, but is apparently titled “7 Almas” in Spanish. In the video above you’ll see Smith follow the conversation of the host via simultaneous translation, answer a couple questions in Spanish, cry about the Obama victory, and sing a flamenco song en español. Too much weird content for me here folks! I have to admit I pretty much despise him in his natural state, but since he’s so good-natured in Spanish he seems almost…ALMOST palatable.

Last week Mala told us that some experts think that Nintendo’s Wii could be dangerous for your health. Also dangerous for one’s health is domestic violence, and the Wii was at the center of at least one heated incident in which two people were arrested. GameTab reports
Blom and his 24 year-old girlfriend, Randi Young, were both arrested for misdemeanor “domestic-related” assault charges. An altercation broke out over Christmas presents. Police arrived at the Blom residence on Christmas Day to discover the couple bruised and battered.“Heath Blom wanted a remote-controlled airplane for Christmas, and not the Wii,” said Sgt. Kuffer Kaltenborn. Blom’s grandmother gave him a Nintendo Wii, which he scoffed at, causing his girlfriend to call him names “for not liking the Wii.”
According to Young, “He [Heath Blom] said he hated it. It hurt her [his grandmother's] feelings… When he didn’t get the plane, he got really upset. He acted like a 10-year-old kid.”
A fight ensued with Blom supposedly dragging Young down two flights of stairs — by her hair. Blom claims Young punched him in the eye three times.
Turns out it wasn’t Wii’s fault. The guy was just an ungrateful bastard, and violent to boot.

It hasn’t been a very happy holiday for Laura Elena Zuniga Huizar, the reigning Reina Hispanoamericana and 2008 winner of one of Mexico’s most renowned beauty pageants, Nuestra Belleza. Laura Elena wasn’t celebrating Christmas Eve with family in Culiacán but rather in a jail cell with her narco buddies. TIME reports:
In October, Laura Zuniga, athletic and 5′ 7″ tall, posed sleekly for the paparazzi. She wore an alluring pink dress and, more importantly, the coveted crown of Miss Hispanic America. Just before Christmas, she again stood before a scrum of Mexican photographers, but this time holding her head low and wearing a pair of handcuffs while police showed off the 9 mm pistols, semi-automatic rifles and $53,000 in cash she had allegedly been caught with. Her problems only deepened on Friday, when a judge ordered her and a man described as her boyfriend, along with six others found with the stash, to be further detained for 40 days pending charges on racketeering, drug trafficking, guns and money laundering.
Someone was drinking way too much coquito when they confused a burrito with a baby.
I’ve had two babies and no matter how hungry, never have confused them with a burrito.

20 Nov 2008Last week we wrote about the large number of women being killed in domestic violence situations in the Dominican Republic. One man is making a statement with his body and cow’s blood to denounce the femicide.

Seriously, people are taking the RBD thing too far. It was bad enough they had to exist in the first place, make a bad novela and market products with the novela. We thought it was over, but like a bad horror movie, RBD refuses to die! There was already one world wide RBD march, in an attempt to save the band, pero ahora there has been a call for a second RBD world wide march to take place on October 4th.
Put us or this “band” out of misery.
