Tomorrow, the President is expected to make a public statement declaring his support for comprehensive immigration reform, again. On Monday, Obama met with immigration advocates, again, although details of the meeting have not been released, at least not to me, beyond what has been reported in the press and that is Obama and his Democratic party blaming the Republicans. On Tuesday, Obama met with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus.
And all of this action is supposed to impress us, the Latino voters. This action and a memo released by I.C.E telling them to remember to deport only the “bad immigrants” not the “good ones” is suppose to impress us and make us forget other actions, like National Guard troops on the U.S. Mexico border and the death of an unarmed child at the hands of border patrol.
Meanwhile, the politicians take us for stupid. Thinking we are not paying attention while they talk out of both sides of their mouths. While they beg for our votes with one hand, they bring more death and detention with the other.
From The Hill:
Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano this week laid out several new initiatives aimed at strengthening the federal government’s partnership with local law enforcement, and President Barack Obama requested $600 million in emergency border funds from Congress. …Napolitano in an editorial in the Arizona Republic earlier this month.
“You might not get this impression from those looking to score political points by saying the border is spinning out of control. But the numbers tell the accurate story – and they’re going in the right direction.”
Those “initiatives with local law enforcement” is a way of saying 287(g) programs without saying it, the same program that made Sheriff Joe Arpaio into the monster he is today, the same program that essentially rolled out the red carpet for Arizona’s SB1070.
I’ll be listening to what Obama has to say tomorrow morning. Hell I may even live tweet it, but more importantly I am watching what he is doing and what he isn’t doing.

He will lie to get us to vote in the November elections, just like he lied to get us to vote for him in 2008. I am finished listening to his lies. When I see him on TV, I change the channel.

[...] It may seem a little too early for drinking but I have a feeling we may need to in order to get through President Obama’s speech on immigration today. [...]
