*Communications Internship Opportunity*

*Summer 2010*

The Center for Constitutional Rights (CCR) is currently seeking energetic
Communications Interns to work for half or full time during May through
August 2009 with a possible extension. The position is unpaid but may be
able to provide a Metrocard for travel to and from the internship. This is
an excellent opportunity for people interested in advancing social justice
by working in a fast-paced, progressive legal advocacy organization. As an

Please note that this internship description is for the Communications
Department only; those interested in litigation or outreach should contact
those departments directly.

*Communications Interns will assist in*:**

- Monitoring of media coverage of CCR and its work and maintain CCR’s
press archive;
- Updating and maintaining CCR media database;
- Growing and maintaining CCR’s new media presence;
- Development of campaigns, research projects and other CCR initiatives;
- Possible HTML, web development and/or design projects;
- Possible editing, proofing and writing as needed; and
- Administrative support

*CCR is looking for interns who possess*:**

- A demonstrated commitment to social justice and social change;

· Excellent English language skills with attention to detail (a
writing sample may be requested);

· Initiative and the ability to work quickly on a deadline;

· Strong multitasking, organizational and self-management skills;

· The ability and willingness to learn and absorb new information
quickly;

· Excellent Internet and other research skills;

· An interest in PR, marketing, journalism, web development or other
communications;

· Proficiency and/or familiarity with MS Office Suite programs;

· Knowledge of HTML, web development and/or design a plus but not
required; and

· Familiarity with legal terminology a plus but not required.
