Spanish Language Ad Supporting Sonia Sotomayor

I’ll admit that I haven’t been paying close enough attention to how the Spanish language media has been reporting on the Sonia Sotomayor nomination.

Americans United for Change have put out a Spanish language ad urging people to call their senators to support Sotomayor.

Jueza Federal, nombrada por el Presidente George Bush padre a la Corte Federal del Distrito Sur de Nueva York y al Segundo Circuito de Cortes de Apelaciones por el Presidente Bill Clinton

Nació en Nueva York, hija de padres puertorriqueños.

Su padre falleció cuando Sonia solo tenía 9 años, pero su madre se esmeró para que sus niños tuvieran una mejor vida.

Cursó la secundaria en el colegio Cardenal Spellman, en el Bronx, y se recibió de la Universidad de Princeton y la facultad de derecho de Yale.

Como jueza, ha sido justa, y ha defendido la constitución y los derechos de todos los estodounidenses.

Ahora va a servir en la Suprema Corte de Justicia.

Sonia Sotomayor

She was named to the Federal Court for Southern District of New York by President George H.W. Bush, and to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals by President Bill Clinton.

She was born in New York, the daughter of Puerto Rican parents.

Her father died when she was just 9 years old, but her mother raised her children to have a better life.

She attended Cardinal Spellman High School in the Bronx, and graduated from Princeton University and Yale Law School.

On the bench, she has been judicious, defending the Constitution and the rights of all Americans.

And now she will serve on the United States Supreme Court.
