Yes, we know Salma Hayak has fabulous tetas.

Aww what a kind, selfless act for her to feed a child from Sierra Leone from those tetas. Or was it a photo-op? Things that make you go hmmmm.

Pero now that she left que paso? What happens to that little boy and his mother.

Hilda Solis Casi Confirmed

S001153.jpgSeems like Hilda Solis’s confirmation to finally get to work as the U.S.’s Secretary of Labor is finally set to happen.

Rep. Hilda Solis edged closer Wednesday to winning confirmation as the nation’s next labor secretary, after more than a month of delays over questions about her husband’s unpaid taxes and her work for a pro-union group.

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee cleared her nomination in a voice vote with only two Republicans voting against her. The action sends the nomination to the full Senate for a final vote likely this week.

In the realm of holiday-related marketing, Valentine’s Day advertising can be the most disturbing. From the annoying yet innocuous “every kiss begins with Kay” jewelry commercial (because women’s love must be purchased with trinkets a la island of Manhattan) to the downright terrifying. I caught this commercial for Vermont Teddy Bears and really couldn’t believe what I was watching…the toolish boyfriend, the ladies’ reactions (:42), the suggestion that these bears will undoubtedly lead to sex…it’s all too much.

What’s your favorite or least favorite Valentine’s Day commercial? And do you know of any that are geared towards men?

The saga of domestic abuse for superstar Rihanna apparently all started this past weekend with a fight and then some death threats which were coming from her boyfriend Chris Brown.

They began squabbling after leaving Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party late Saturday. Shortly after midnight, things blew up. Brown pulled his silver Lamborghini to the side of a street in L.A.’s Hancock Park neighborhood. That’s when, per the source, Rihanna grabbed the car keys and tossed them out the window, sending Brown into a rage.

He tried in vain to find the keys, then came back to the car, put his hands around her neck and, according to the insider, said, “I’m going to kill you!”

According to reports, Rihanna was beaten unconscious, and when she awoke, severely injured, was taken to the hospital after someone called 911. Reports are sketchy and conflicting, but The Huffington Post, which is doing a good job of compiling all of the information, has published accounts that the singer was bloody and exhibited bite marks.

Chris Brown turned himself in on Sunday and is being held on $50,000 bail. A party planned for Rihanna’s 21st birthday has been cancelled, as has an upcoming concert in Malaysia. Brown has also lost a contract with Wrigley’s gum as a result of the incident.

Rihanna is reportedly cooperating with police on the case, according to the L.A. Times.

3262704953_7e7c9849f2_m.jpgWhen Nadya Suleman gave birth to eight babies, everyone went awww. When people found out she already had 6 kids, bringing her children up to 14, people went ay! And since then, everyone wants her to be anything but white porque as pointed out by this post on Racialicious, white mamis with many many kids get movies and tv shows. Non-white mamis get hated on and accused of being on welfare and a burden, even if there is no proof that she actually is a burden. People respond by yelling “Don’t giver her free diapers!” , as if to say, “she needs to be punished”.

Then people look closer. Suleman. what kind of a name is that? It sure as hell ain’t Smith, or Gosselin, or Michelle and Jim Bob Duggers. So people have to make her something other than “us”. So they make her “them” as in me, as in Latina.

You know Latinas with their loose sexual morals and high birth rates and secret plans to reconquer the tierra with babies and then Suleman isn’t married. Why don’t Latinas get married to their babies’ daddies or in this case sperm donors cuz yes, that would make it all ok, right?

Except Suleman isn’t Latina.

Nadya’s father is Iraqi and her mother Ukrainian.

And now to add the horror. Suleman receives Food Stamps. ::Gasp::.

Hell I only have two kids and food stamps help, alot.

Go ahead and comment now. I’m ready to start banning stupid people.

3219452352_896224185b_m.jpgOn Friday I told you a little about the hold up with the Hilda Solis confirmation hearings.

Emily’s List has a petition up, directed to Senator McConnell and Senator Enzi, to move to confirm Hilda Solis as the next Secretary of Labor.

Having a worker sympathetic Secretary of Labor is critical in these economic times.

Sign the petition here.

Gracias a Ms. Sylvia for tweeting this earlier hoy.

Virtual Vigilantes Get Millions to Watch U.S./Mexico Frontera

10 Feb 2009

During President Obama’s first prime-time press conference last night, the economy was mentioned, as was Iran. Hell even A-Rod got some play, pero an issue impacting millions wasn’t even whispered: immigration.

Meanwhile, ICE keeps separating families, people in detention are being abused and being killed, and looking latino is enough to get you attacked or worse.

Then there are these idiots, who managed to score $2 million because they are protecting you. You, not me, cuz my last name gives it all away.
