So, now that the election is over, it’s time to remember what got the world excited about Obama to begin with. As somebody who supports third party candidates, I personally do not think Obama will change the world, but I do have a few hopes for his administration. Namely:
1. I hope he will have a change of heart and confront immigration issues with an eye on human rights and respect.
2. I hope he really will end the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan and withdraw troops.
3. I hope he commits to the U.N. Millennium Goals.
4. I hope he changes his mind and embraces full marriage equality across the board.
What about you? What hopes do you have for this new administration?

I agree with those.
Mostly,
1. I hope that we organize our collective voice effectively and push his administration on these things we want
and then
2. I hope he heeds our voice.

Number 4 is weighing heavily on me right now, though I’d agree with all of them.

My hopes are from a different point of view since I’m an independent conservative. They are:
1. I hope Obama is not allowed to push his socialist agenda on the people of America.
2. I hope he is prevented from organizing his proposed civilian security force with military training and military fire power.
3. I hope for the next four years safety for him and his family and a full term to prove that the Americans that voted for him did great damage to our country.
4. I hope he will not be unable to provide an original hospital birth certificate from Hawaii when forced by the Supreme Court to do so.
5. I hope that I awaken to find out all of this did not happen, it was all a horrible nightmare.

Hey EyesofTexas, from a fellow Texan – paranoid much? They confirmed that his birth certificate was totally legitimate last week. Socialist agenda? Obama just appointed Rahm Emmanuel, a top recipient of Wall Street money who helped Clinton push through NAFTA in 1994, as his chief of staff. Don’t know what civilian security force you’re talking about. But Obama has said he wants to expand the military budget.
There’s a petition already out asking Obama to immediately end all ICE raids. I really hope he will do that.

Can always count on Eyes to bring home the anger.
Ansel, Thanks so much for info on petition–that’s really really important, and I hope he does it too.

the Americans that voted for him did great damage to our country.
This is perhaps the meme I’m weariest of–only conservatives and Republicans are “true Americans” and know what’s good for the country.
How do they explain the damage that Bush has wrought or what a horrible nightmare that has really been?
And someone, pray tell, what is Obama’s socialist agenda?!
