Obama’s Grandmother Dies

obamagrandma2x.jpgJust read the news on CNN that Barack Obama’s grandmother died.

Just over a week after he took a break from the campaign trail to visit his ailing grandmother, Barack Obama’s campaign said that 85-year-old Madelyn Dunham had died “peacefully” after a battle with cancer.

“She was the cornerstone of our family, and a woman of extraordinary accomplishment, strength, and humility,” said Obama and half-sister Maya Soetoro-Ng in a statement released by the campaign Monday afternoon. “She was the person who encouraged and allowed us to take chances. She was proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and left this world with the knowledge that her impact on all of us was meaningful and enduring. Our debt to her is beyond measure.

Obama and Soetoro-Ng said there would be a “small private ceremony at a later date.”

Dunham helped raise the Illinois senator during his teen years in Honolulu.

It makes me sad to know that if Obama does win, his win will not be the celebration it should be.

May Ms. Dunham rest in peace, and her family be comforted by the incredible life they know she led.

If it’s true, may God have mercy on Obama’s grandmother soul, but I still think it’s a shame Obama and his campaign released the news one day before election day, for political expediency. As Hispanics, we wouldn’t or dare use our grandparents’ or loved ones death for political expediency or any excuse, because we would be so devastated to do so, and because our loved ones are sacred. As a Hispanic of Mexican descent female who proudly served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, I will proudly cast my vote for Senator John McCain, because I’m a devout practicing Catholic against abortion and same-sex marriage, and because I believe Senator McCain has the maturity, experience, knowledge, character that we need in a U.S. President. Senator McCain risked his political career for authoring a bill to grant amnesty to illegal aliens, and according the liberal media the majority of Hispanics are voting for Obama. It was a very sad day when Gov. Bill Richardson (Mexican descent) of New Mexico, went against the Clintons to endorse Obama. Richardson betrayed the Clintons who made him a prominent politician. Even though I’m not a Democrat I contributed generously to Senator Clinton’s campaign because Obama, his campaign, and the Democratic party stepped all over her, demoralized her supporters and did not take the voters who voted for her in consideration. Obama divided the Democratic party, and has been dividing the nation with his divisiveness, playing the race, victim, sympathy, and so many other cards. I sincerely hope and pray that for the good of our great country, military, and the world, American voters elect Senator John McCain for President. As Pope Benedict replied when he was asked who he was supporting, our Pope said he was supporting the candidate that supports life from the moment of conception. Senator McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin support life. I rather lose an election than lose my soul. Please my fellow Hispanics, vote McCain/Palin. A Obama, los Hispanos no le importamos, es pura conveniencia. Que Dios bendiga America, y el resto del mundo! Thanks.

You’re kidding, right?

His grandmother passed away early Monday morning. Did you expect them to mention her death before it happened?

Hispanic US Veteran, you’re a little lost. Yes, McCain is pro-life, but what about your salvation. Following the Pope is as fraudulent as religion can get. He is but a man, he is no closer to God than you and I. Anyhow, what would be said of Obama if he gave no notice at all to his Grandmother’s passing? I wonder.
