Real Scary Stories : Poll finds 23% of Texans think Obama is Muslim.

A University of Texas poll to be released today shows Republican presidential candidate John McCain and GOP Sen. John Cornyn leading by comfortable margins in Texas, as expected. But the statewide survey of 550 registered voters has one very surprising finding: 23 percent of Texans are convinced that Democratic presidential nominee Barack Obama is a Muslim.

Obama is a Christian who was embroiled in a controversy earlier this year about his two-decade membership in Chicago’s Trinity United Church of Christ. Yet just 45 percent of those polled identified the Illinois senator as a Protestant.

The Obama-is-a-Muslim confusion is caused by fallacious Internet rumors and radio talk-show gossip. McCain went so far at one of his town hall meetings to grab a microphone from a woman who claimed that Obama was an Arab.

Well, not surprising since Texas highschoolers tested at the lower end of the national educational system. At first the highschoolers tested second from the bottom nationally. But later it was discovered that the numbers were manipulated and that Texas had actually the lowest test scores in the United States. So sorry Texas, you’re stupid.

FYI_ A child born to a Muslim father is, and always will be, a Muslim as stated in the Koran. Islamic law is very strict in this belief and also states that any Muslim that denies Allah or deserts the Muslim faith is subject to execution. So, take it from this stupid Texan, who has read the Koran, that technically Obama is a Muslim, no matter what faith he now practices, since his father was a Muslim. Oh, BTW, if you haven’t heard by now, Obama has been endorsed by Hamas. Go figure.

well, eyes–i see your tit for tat and point out that al qaeda endorsed mccain. I also want to point out that Obama Sr. was a Muslim then became an atheist. And he was not executed, he died in a car crash.

AAAAAaaand, obama was *raised* by his mother, which means that it doesn’t really much matter even if his father was an atheist, a christian, a muslim, or a believer in the cookie monster. It’s pretty near impossible to have any influence on a person when you are in Kenya and that person is in the U.S. being raised by his christian mother and her christian parents.

You know, the funny thing is, I don’t like Obama any more than you do, eyes, and yet I manage to not support him because of all of his stated policy ideas.

Why is it so hard to not vote for somebody because you don’t like their policy ideas?

La Macha -

I understand what you are saying. I can quite comfortably vote against Obama because of his radical socialist globalism and other inane “policy ideas”. Or because he is willing to promise anyone anything they want (and has), but has absolutely no way to “balance the books” or pay for all the treats he has promised.

That said … Eyes is dead on. It makes no difference that it is irrational to our way of thinking. But in Islam … it matters not what religion the woman was that raised you or whether you had even even known your Muslim father. [Btw ... his stepfather was also Muslim although that doesn't figure into the Islamic law issue.] This is an extremely critical issue that the news media has kept a virtually total blackout on. The Islamic world has been remarkably silent about it also. The American Muslims who try to bring this warning are given no press and I am convinced that their blogs get moved back several pages in the search engines! [Ok, that last was hyperbole ... but it is beginning to get spooky!]

This isn’t something you can apply western logic to. Sharia law is not susceptible to logic in the way we think of it. In order to understand clearly what Eyes is saying, you need to walk through this step by step. I don’t have room here, but I have done so, with each step carefully documented. The conclusion? If we believe Obama as to who his father was and that Obama himself is, as he claims, a Christian … then he is ridda … an apostate. And he is therefore under an automatic death sentence … no fatwas necessary (although I expect the Muslims to be cranking them out upon his election anyway).

Please see this: It is critical to this election and has been completely buried by the press:

In fact, there is much you will find of interest and value in the blog. I’m a lifelong Alaskan on the gray side of 50 and I know a lot more about Sarah Palin than you do … unless you’ve been getting your information from someplace far removed from the mainstream media! They have, in lockstep, painted a cartoon caricature of an astonishingly accomplished and utterly fearless leader who has vastly more relevant experience for the presidency than any of the other three candidates in the two major parties.

Drop on by and take a gander. I’ll put the coffee on.
