29 Sep 2008On today’s political stage, image is everything and substance is just that, filler. As people await the VP debates later this week, the concern is who will make more mistakes, who will fuck up worse and how that will play out in November.
Sarah Palin, held up as a an everymujer, proves herself over and over again as not fit to run a country and it’s not about what she looks(ed) like in a swimsuit.

Wanna scare ‘mericans into voting McCain? Easy. Create a new brown menace to go with Ahmadinejad. As we saw in the debate last week, all it takes is saying Ahmadinejad, Castro, Chavez in one breath.
“In Venezuela we are interested in development of nuclear energy, of course for peaceful purposes, for medical purposes, for purposes of electricity generation,” Chavez said at a political rally.“Brazil has various nuclear reactors, so does Argentina. We will have ours.”
Chavez noted that Venezuela, which is a member of the oil-producing cartel OPEC, developed a nuclear reactor decades ago but abandoned it under pressure from the United States.
He said Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin had offered help with a reactor, adding that “we already have a commission working on this issue.”
I can’t be the only one expecting an invasion of Venezuela, can I?

Need someone to blame for the economic downturn, for the mortgage crisis? Look no farther than Maria y Jose. That’s right it’s those damn illegal immigrants (or some would have you believe). After all they control the money and the system that controls that. No? DreamActivist writes over at The Sanctuary:
Why, don’t you know, those migrant workers, low-income wage-earners, illegals in the military, undocumented students struggling to afford college, caused the financial collapse of Wall Street, Main Street, all streets!! Now we need a $700 billion dollar bailout for them!
Sylvia P also follows the path atras, as to who really is to blame.
It started with the ambitions of a single illegal alien.
That’s right. I said it. We have no time for political correctness now. If Sen. McCain can suspend his campaign, I can suspend my intelligence to state things plainly. And plainly, my investment banker siblings, it always starts with one.
And we ignored the signs, even when it appeared in the news way back when the Mexicans first began ousting CEOs.

Nearly 400 people are missing two weeks after Hurricane Ike hit parts of Texas.
“There are a lot of elderly folks, just looking at the age column,”Many of them are from the hardest hit areas of the county, including Boliver, Crystal Beach and Gilchrist.
About 75% of homes in the Galveston area are uninhabitable.
For the first time since Hurricane Ike blew away much of the city, residents of Galveston began streaming home today. But the city is in such bad shape, those hurrying back home were given an ominous warning: Bring tetanus shots, rat poisoning and don’t bring children.
If that’s not enough, planes are spraying the city with insecticide to prevent a boom in the mosquito population, the water isn’t drinkable and people are urged to wear face masks to guard against inhaling toxic mold that is proliferating in the sweltering city.
One way you can help is through giving to the Greater Houston Community Foundation.

25 Sep 2008ABC is reporting the story of Iman Morales, a man who was experiencing a mental health crisis and was tasered to death rather than helped. Apparently his mother called the police for help after he wandered naked out onto a fire escape. The police showed up and after Morales ‘poked’ one of the police officers with a florescent light bulb, they tasered him. Unfortunately, after an hour of trying to convince the man to come down, the police had ‘forgotten’ to put precautionary inflatable foam or netting down to break Morales’s fall. Morales suffered extreme head trauma from landing on the sidewalk and died.
