My political mentor Richie Perez (RIP), used to say that voting in and of itself was not going to solve all of the injustices in the world, but that voting was a weapon in our toolbox and as such should be used.

In New York State, where I live, the deadline for registering to vote in the upcoming presidential election is fast approaching (October 10th). I know of a friend of mine who went to vote in the local elections earlier this week and didn’t find her name on the registers. So double check!!! Make sure you are registered!
