People believe the Sideshow Tricks : McCain Poll Numbers Up Post Convention
11:35 H | Topics: RNC08 - US Presidential Race 2008
Ah U.S short term memory and the ability to be distracted is an amazing thing. Apparently all the flag waving, chants of U.S.A., and talk of Hockey Moms worked, as a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll shows John McCain leading over Barack Obama 54% to 44% among likely voters.
Poll numbers are constantly shifting and more often than not based on biased questions and perspectives, but regardless numbers are scary, especially since according to a USA TODAY article, the boost in numbers is credited to Sarah Palin.
The Republican National Convention has given John McCain and his party a significant boost, a USA TODAY/Gallup Poll taken over the weekend shows, as running mate Sarah Palin helps close an "enthusiasm gap" that has dogged the GOP all year.
Really? People are inspired by a woman who is being kept from the press as she gets "trained" on the issues?

Yes, that's a frightening thought. As Bill Maher said, the American public is too stupid to be governed.

So, a big Bill Maher fan are you? He is so far left leaning that one push would knock him over. He carries no weight in his political ranting and is viewed by most rational people as a lunatic that thinks he is humorous. Nothing but a scumbag with a talk show.

Hmm, Eye, that sounds like another talk show host I know, one who is of the O'Rielly persuasion?
p.s. oddly enough, I'd argue that your description also sounds a little like how you'd describe me. I wonder if I should be insulted....

Polls don't tell the inside story. Obama is counting a great deal on a huge black voter turnout. That has to be a scary thought for democrats who can't be too sure about those folks. Their track record for reliability is low. Probably why the "likely voter" polls favor McCain.
