Police Brutality in Denver

19:22 H | Topics: DNC - US Presidential Race 2008

Just saw this video of a cop in Denver slamming a woman to the ground with his police baton. Then, after the woman starts talking to the press, the police come over and arrest her. In light of all the analysis about how horrible China was in regards to human rights, I have to wonder where all the analysis is about this incident?

This seems to be a pretty common (yet ugly) police tactic at demonstrations. By hitting a woman, the police know that it's likely that male protestors will jump in to her aid, may even get angry & physical with her....guess what? Now the police have a "violent demonstration" they get to break up. And any public interest in the demo gets twisted into "those stupid violent protestors turn me off their cause".

CORRECTION: I meant to say that the male demonstrators may get angry & physical with the police...mistyped!
