Obama's Vice-Presidential Pick : Joe Biden (and Where's My Text?)
09:10 H | Topics: DNC - US Presidential Race 2008
This morning, we woke up to the news that Barack Obama has chose Senator Joseph R. Biden Jr. of Delaware to be his running mate. I know I didn't get the text message I signed up for but that might have been for the better. The announcement went out via text message and email at about 3 a.m.
Joe Biden has all the experience that Obama's critics say the presidential nominee lacks. Biden is the chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
The McCain camp was ready and launched a commercial showing how Biden, Obama's former competition for the Democratic nomination, once said that he doubted Obama's experience, among other things.
Also we should all remember that Biden described Obama as "clean and articulate"
He was forced to apologize to Mr. Obama almost the moment he entered the race for president after he was quoted as describing Mr. Obama as “the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,” a remark that drew criticism for being racially insensitive. While campaigning in New Hampshire, Mr. Biden said that “you cannot go to a 7-Eleven or a Dunkin’ Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent.”
Sounds like the kind of guy who's for change, no? ::rolling eyes::

I guess it's playing both sides at once. Maybe his charming bigotry will "lure in" a few McCain dropouts. Clinton would have been a better fit, in terms of policy and "experience" but was this decision based on policy? I think not. Bletch.
