This weekend the world lost two artists.
Yesterday, 50 year old comedian Bernie Mac, who had been in the hospital for some time due to pneumonia, passed away in a Chicago area hospital. Bernie Mac is best known for his stand up comedy, a television show bearing his name, and his film work.
Isaac Hayes, known for a range of things from winning an Oscar in 1971 for his “Theme From Shaft” to starring as Chef on South Park and being inducted into the Rock and Roll hall of fame in 2002, died today at age 65. He was found unresponsive by a family member, having apparently collapsed during a workout.
Ironically both Hayes and Bernie Mac will appear in a film scheduled to be released in November, Soul Men.
