I liked the marches at the beginning but I believe that right now its overkill. People are marching and then what? Its being counterproductive… the last couple of years we’ve had, one successfull string of organized marches the year of Sensenbrenner, with plenty of really uneventfull marches and “boycotts”.
You can march all you want but if you don’t communicate with your elected officials by jamming their faxes, their e-mails and their phone lines or, even voting for those who can, you don’t count… this is not being done and obviously elected officials are not listening.

The general public takes a very negative response to thousands of illegal aliens and their supporters marching in the streets, causing disturbance, blocking traffic flow and demanding our laws be changed to accomodate their ethnic group. All these marches do is make everyone more aware of the fact that there are too many people in the U.S. illegally and that our government must get involved to resolve the situation by enforcing existing immigration laws.

I think marches are just one weapon in an activist’s toolbox. In order for them to be effective, other weapons need to be used in conjunction.

Amen Maegan… People like EYES OF TEXAS make me want to march despite some of my concerns about the marching tactics… I’ll go jam my congressperson’s fax machine after I come back from the march….

Only trying to give you facts about the negative results of creating demonstrations and marches that in the end only unites American citizens in favor of enforcing all existing immigration laws to their fullest extent. Ignore me or not, I live to see the day that all illegal immigration is stopped and this nation is returned to its citizens.

Eye of Texas, what a disappointment that whatever your ethnic identity may be, I hope you do realize that your ancestors also came to this land illegaly. Everyone who studied history (so I hope your one smart man) is aware that the White immigrants who first started to domiante this continet did not come here legally. Lastly, why do you think so many “illegal” people are here? Because of people like you who believe its okay to exploit them in their native country.

Luis I addressed your post yesterday but the truth is too offensive so it got deleted. On another point you made about the exploitation is not entirely accurate. Take make Mexico for example a foreign owned compamy is prohibited in Mexico and has been for a long long time. So tell me again who is exploiting the mexicans in mexico who make up close to 55% of illegal immigrants in the USA
