Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) is proud to produce Songs from The Capeman (April 1 through April 6, 2008), a special concert staging of Paul Simon’s 1998 Broadway show, The Capeman. The show’s lauded music, in performances at the BAM Harvey Theater (651 Fulton St), will feature Paul Simon, Oscar Hernández and the Spanish Harlem Orchestra, Claudette Sierra, Obie Bermudez, Ray De La Paz, Little Anthony and the Imperials and other guests.

art.pr.gov.file.ap.jpgThe governor of Puerto Rico and 12 members of his party, el Partido Popular Democrata, were indicted yesterday on charges of conspiracy to violate U.S. federal campaign laws and giving false testimony to the FBI, among others. If found guilty, Anibal Acevedo Vila could face up to 20 years in prison. The charges follow a two year investigation led by the U.S. Federal Justice Department. Acevedo Vila will not be arrested, but rather will be given the opportunity to turn himself in. He is expected to do so sometime this morning. Others names in the indictments weren’t so lucky and were led away in handcuffs.
