Latina Book Promotion : Sucia Party Style

Getting a book published as a Latina is hard enough. Promoting that book so that it is a success, is a whole other can of gandules. That's why author Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez is going beyond the book club route to promote her new book Dirty Girls on Top ,the sequel to her bestselling debut, The Dirty Girls Social Club. She's asking old fans and new readers to host parties in support of the book. From the books website:

Our goal is to have 250 parties across the nation, the week of July 8, 2008; we hope most will take place the weekend of July 11 to 13.

I think this is actually a great idea and a great way to bring excitement back into the lit world.
