Jessica Alba isn’t the Only Questionable Latina in this Month’s Latina

image002.jpgI was purposely and unusually quiet regarding the March issue of Latina magazine featuring controversial Latina (or not) actress Jessica Alba. I, along with many, was disturbed by her comments targeted at Latinas in general and Mexicans specifically. The cover story, gave Alba a chance to explain herself. Read the article for yourself to decide if you buy her explanation. Here’s a snippet:

“No one gives Cameron Diaz a hard time for not speaking Spanish,” says Alba. “Her dad’s Cuban, and I was telling her I feel so bad because everyone is so nasty to me for not speaking Spanish. She’s like, ‘I don’t speak Spanish! I barely speak English!’,” says the pregnant star with a laugh.

Yeah except the language issue isn’t the only issue. In the article she practically squeals that she can’t wait to have brown babies. Hmmm.
Seriously read the article and let me know what you think.

If Jessica being on the front and back cover, gives you pause in terms of dropping the buck 99 on the magazine, turn to page 74 and you will find two articles by yours truly. One is about Argentina’s first (elected) lady President and the second is about the wave of narcocorrido killings in Mexico. Oh and I speak Spanish and have brown babies (yeah?!)
