Obama Wins the Potomac

Naysayers are shaking their heads as Barack Obama came out as a winner in three primaries yesterday (Virginia, Washington D.C. and Maryland). The press is having a field day with the win, pointing that Obama pulled the vote of women and ::gasp:: Latinos (you mean they will vote for a black candidate?).
In Virginia, Obama outdid Clinton among women by a margin of 58 percent to 42. He also captured the majority of those voters who make less than $50,000: 59 percent to 40 percent. And even bested Clinton among Latinos by a margin of 55 to 45, though the later made up a small portion of the voting public and should be taken with a grain of salt.Latinos make up about 4% of the electorate there.
With almost all precincts reporting, Mr. Obama won 75 percent of the vote in the District of Columbia and 64 percent in Virginia. He had 60 percent of the vote in Maryland with results from 67 percent of the precincts. This recent set of wins puts Obama ahead in the delegate race, but that doesn't mean that he's a sure thing.
The Associated Press count of delegates showed Obama with 1,223. Clinton had 1,198, falling behind for the first time since the campaign began. Neither was close to the 2,025 needed to win the nomination.

It is so disingenuous of Hillary to first think she has the blacks in her back pocket and panders to them; then when that doesn’t work she moves on to the Hispanics. Do latino/as really think she cares for us? Will work for us? Will support our issues? I think not!

Many conveniently choose to forget that the Clinton administration was good for many in this country, including Latinos. Unemployment was at an all-time low, and people, especially Latinos remember that those were indeed better times. It's just as fair to ask do you really think Obama cares for us, will work for us, or support our issues? If you think that just because he is a "person of color" he will fight for us, then that is a truly simplistic, if not ignorant perspective and you just might be in for a rude awakening. Hillary is the better choice because SHE KNOWS WHAT SHE IS DOING. SO many people are so caught up in the Obama hype and the "inspiration and hope", but they haven't really taken the time to examine what it is he will really offer, which is not much.

If Clinton was so good for us , what about that whole welfare to work thing which basically just forced many women and children off the rolls and into underground/invisible economies?
I'm not endorsing Obama ( I don't really like either) but I think it does a real disservice to Latinos when you assume they are choosing Obama over Clinton because he is a person of color and not because of nuances over issues. That's the game the Clinton camp and mainstream media is playing.
