It seems in spite of all the rumors swirling around that JLo was in the process of giving birth to some Marc Anthony babies over the weekend at the North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset, it might have been a false alarm:
A story Sunday in the New York Post said the hospital’s maternity ward had been “buzzing” late Saturday amid reports that Lopez had arrived to give birth to two babies. The report said two nurses had confirmed that Lopez was at the hospital, and that security appeared to have been tightened. On Sunday, however, there was no evidence either of Lopez’s presence or of heightened security in the maternity ward or at the hospital. Several calls to a hospital spokesperson went unreturned. Calls to Lopez’s publicist, Leslie Sloane, also were not returned.
Like a real diva, she’s making the world wait. I, however cannot wait to see what the little tykes look like. And I think you know why.

Paul Brennan was arrested by officers at a border checkpoint in southern Texas on Monday night. The US Border Patrol said Brennan was now in custody and was awaiting deportation.
It said he had been serving a 23-year prison sentence in Northern Ireland on charges of possessing a bomb and a firearm.
So I guess score for all those strong border activists. I think it’s interesting to note that despite the brown scare, the accused is a white man.

All over the world today, millions of Colombians are expected to gather, not just demanding peace, as they have been for sometime, but specifically against the FARC. The call is that at noon, whatever time zone you are in, to demand an end to the FARC and their attacks against the community. The movement was begun over the internet, according to the official press release, on Facebook. For about a month now (that’s when I myself began getting emails) people have been organizing to stop what some are calling a reign of terror against the Colombian populace, carried out by the FARC via kidnappings and violence. But not everyone is with the program, some family members of hostages held by the FARC are concerned that such an action will incur more violence against their loved ones.
“Maybe neither the hostages not the humanitarian exchange or peace will benefit,” the mother of Ingrid Betancourt, a high-profile hostage, is quoted as saying in Semana magazine

I am not an American football fan. I’ve been to live games and watched games on the boon tube and it usually bores me to tears. But I did catch the last five minutes of last night’s Superbowl and got all excited! After all, I am a New Yorker and the New York Giants kicking some New England Patriot culo got me all riled up!
Go Giants!

4 Feb 2008Groups of more than 2 white men on a corner make me nervous to begin with (tongue firmly planted in cheek) but for those who say Minutemen aren’t scary or up for some good ole-fashioned threatening, well I guess the above was staged.

Latina PAC endorsed Hillary Clinton for President and this morning is having a breakfast with New York Congress woman the Honorable Nydia Velazquez as a key speaker. According to its website:F
ounded in 2004, LatinaPAC, is the first Latina-focused political action committee in the New York metro area.
I tried contacting Latina PAC for more information as to why they endorsed Hillary Clinton (it appears they sent out ballots for its members to vote) but as of this morning, I haven’t received an official response.
