_44346008_clara_afp_203b.jpgIs Colombia talking out both sides of its mouth or is the media just not reporting things correctly? On Tuesday, Colombia said that it didn't want any outside parties involved in hostage negotiations, but an early morning report today indicates that Colombia has authorized a renewed Venezuelan mission to get Consuelo Gonzalez and Clara Rojas.

Univision television news and the BBC is reporting that the Red Cross and Venezuelan helicopters have left Venezuela to a Colombian airport to fuel up then off to coordinates known only to them in the Colombian jungle. On the helicopters include a Venezuelan government representative, a full medical team, and members of the International Red Cross.

Yesterday President Hugo Chavez said that he had received the coordinated of where the handover would take place from the FARC.
If this finally goes through, the international community would be forced to say something nice about Hugo Chavez and may be the beginning of renewed negotiations with the FARC.
