16 Nov 2007Today, Al Sharpton and his National Action Network are holding a march down Washington DC’s Freedom Plaza against race based hate crimes. He told the Amsterdam News:
“We give people a false image that everything is well with the world. We relieve them of the burden of dealing with the record of injustice by containing our outrage.”
Heading the march will be friends and family of New York police shooting victimSean Bell, Mychal Bell of the Jena 6, and rape and beating survivor Megan Williams.
I hope that Latino victims of hate crimes are also included in the march.
