Ah, it seems like it was just yesterday when El Potrillo was nothing but a little potrillito (or something like that). But now Alejandro Fernandez is all grown up and is already celebrating his 15th year in the music business. To mark such a momentous anniversary, Ale is giving 5 special concerts at Mexico City’s Auditorio Nacional next month:
The concerts will take place between the 21st and the 27th of November, and will form part of his tour “Viento a favor” which corresponds with his latest album of the same name, which after only a few months has sold more than half a million copies worldwide.
The Mexico City shows will conclude the North American leg of Alejandro’s tour, which will continue on to Central America and later South America.

EA Games has figured out that Latino is hot, especially in terms of dollars. This is why it’s making one of it’s top games fully translated into Spanish. Madden NFL 08 En Espanol will be available this December , just in time for the Christmas holidays. The game will be for the PlayStation 2 and the Xbox 360 video game systems.
There wil even be a Latino cover boy, Dominicano San Diego Chargers defensive end Luis Castillo. The game features exclusive Spanish language content, including additional music tracks, and Spanish play-by-play and game analysis voice-over.

Today in 1962, then President J.F.Kennedy goes on television and informs the world that the Soviet Union has placed missile installations in Cuba, only 90 miles from the American mainland. Since and forever after, Cuba has become the little big bad red wolf all people in the U.S. are to fear and hate. My mother told me stories about drills she went through in school, hiding underneath her desk (because that was gonna protect them). The report allegedly put most of the eastern seaboard and southern United States within range of Soviet nuclear warheads.

Anybody out there got a Microsoft Zune (a what?)? That’s Bill Gates’ answer to an iPod, and the Zune is out to conquer Latino music lovers and challenge the manzanita’s iTunes Latino, released at about this time last year. Microsoft is leaning on some Latino celebs to promote the Zune and hopefully lure listeners away from the ubiquitous iPod:
Wisin & Yandel, the reggaeton duo with an uncanny knack for delivering hit singles, will become the first act to get its own customized Zune player, Billboard has learned. The limited-edition Wisin & Yandel Zune device will hit Wal-Mart stores nationwide October 29, before the release of the duo’s new album, “Los Extraterrestres,” November 6.
