Anti-Chavez Billboard Gets a Second Look Because of Word Choice

08:49 H | Topics: Controversia - Florida - Venezuela

ass.4.jpgA billboard put up and paid for by self-proclaimed "true American" John McCombs in Florida is drawing fire but not for reasons you might think. It's not that Bay Minette has a strong pro-Hugo Chavez lobby, it's that the billboard's choice of language is offensive. Don't Buy Gas from This Ass is the most intelligent response McCombs could come up with after Chavez said Bush was the devil and made nice with Iran. But locals aren't happy with seeing "ass" everyday. They have complained to the city about the sign to try and get it removed. Just as smart is the placement of the billboard. It's right near a BP station.

I'm not really a Chavez supporter, but I've bought Citco gas regularly just as a mini-protest against BushCheney (real mini since I ride the bus 6 out of 7 days. That probably does keep Cheney up at night, that people use transit.).
%90 of Hugo's popularity outside of Venezuela is just that he zings our thin-skinned president every chance he gets. And idiot Bush falls for it every time.

Its morons like you, Anna, that are the problem with this country! Wow! What a great idea! Protest our Democratic president by supporting a scumbag like Chavez! How smart. People like you should go and live in Venenzuela and see what happens to you!!

Our democratically elected president? Hah! Not even Republicans believe that.

That billboard is a GAS!

I'm a venezuelan living in Caracas and we need all the attention we can get from around the world. Our ass-guy holds gangster contol over public institutions, parliament and supreme court and is attempting a coup-d'ètat against the current constitution that he designed to his needs in 1999, but doesn't suit him anymore.

That bill may create awareness.

To everyone interested in this project......the language was used to get attention. I don't think any other verbiage would have received this much attention. Thanks for your comments. I would just like for you to know that 99% of comments have been positive.

Have a great day!

The billboard is great. The more scrutiny the communist regime of Chavez receives, the more people will reject his foray into a failed philosophy. And Anna, if the USA is so bad you should please leave immediately, before your sensibilities are offended. I'd be curious to see how you like living in a 3rd world dictatorship hostile to americans.

I think there is nothing wrong with that sign, PLEASE we say worse words sometimes. They guys is the Fidel Castro of Venezuela. I do not care if some of us are Bush fans or not, but he did call our president a Devil, he is disrespecting our country, he is allways talking crap about Americans, but he loves our dollars and unfortunately we are making him richer by buying his gas. We are supporting all of his tirany, and that needs to stop. THUMBS UP FOR THIS PERSON THAT HAD THE GUTS TO DO THE SIGN, HOPE HE TAKES IT AROUND THE COUNTRY

That ass is a dictator, he controls the congresss, all powers in Venezuela. He gives away the Venezuelans' money, like if that money belonged to him. He is rude and hypocrit, a fake person buying people to support his own project. Don't support his gas station, it makes HIM richer, that money is not for Venezuelan people.
