Vicente Fox insults Telemundo reporter

Ex-president of Mexico Vicente Fox thought he was going to have a low-key interview when he arrived at the studios of Telemundo 52 in Los Angeles, but he got more than he bargained for when the reporter asked him some uncomfortable questions about a current scandal regarding properties owned by his wife, Marta Sahagun. In town to promote his English-language autobiography, Fox sat down with reporter Rubén Luengas and it didn’t take long for sparks to fly and for the ex-president to eventually explode:

Mexico City’s La Jornada has the transcript here, but if you’re interested in cutting to the chase, Fox calls Luengas a battery of names, among them “liar” and “vulgar”.

capt.2575fc7d50f64eac8ca6288e6616e66e.people_martin_cadd107.jpgBon-bon shaking bombón Ricky Martin reached a milestone in his career yesterday as he received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. By his own account, Mr. Martin was a little nervous:

“I have talked to Congress and the United Nations, but have never been as nervous as I am today,” Martin, 35, told reporters.

“With this star my work has been recognized and this star is here forever,” added the singer and former Mexican TV soap opera star who shot to world fame during soccer’s 1998 World Cup with his fast-paced tune “Livin’La Vida Loca.”

Actually, Ricky, if your career dries up, the star won’t be there forever. There’s only so much sidewalk. But we’ll pray that doesn’t happen!

Oh, and someone tell the AFP writer that it wasn’t Livin’ la vida loca but La copa de la vida that he sang for the World Cup. Get your RM tunes straight!

Ohlala blog has some great photos of Ricky’s Walk of Fame ceremony here.
