Back in March, the Virgin Mary made an appearance on a baking pan in Houston. Then she was at it again on the border, crying some bloody tears. Now she’s at it again, making her presence known yet again on — of all things — a lemon slice:
A Texas man said he has spotted the face of the Virgin Mary on a lemon slice.Marty Nance of Watauga, Texas, spotted the face earlier this week while he was cutting the lemon at his father’s bar.
However, where Nance sees the Virgin Mary, others in the bar are seeing other faces.

So far the Democrats hoping to be the next U.S. President have participated in forums for the Latino community, the African American/black community, the U.S. Indigenous community, and the GLBT community. And the Republicans? Well as a group they seem to only want to debate/participate in forums for the mainstream which by default, let’s be real here, means white middle U.S.
The Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art may contain the largest collection of Western Art outside of the west but works by greats including Spanish painters like Picasso and Miro but most won’t see them. And while many will say it’s an example of Iranian censorship and anti-Western sentiment, the reasons given an a Los Angeles Times article range from a lack of space to protecting the paintings.

It was 22 years ago today when, at 7:19 a.m. local time, Mexico City was shaken by an earthquake which is said to have released the energy of 1,114 20-kiloton atomic bombs. The Richter scale registered 8.1 that morning, and in only two minutes huge portions of the city were destroyed. The earthquake’s epicenter was situated off the coasts of Guerrero and Michoacan states, but affected the Valley of Mexico, the center of which is Mexico City, much more intensely.
The magnitude of the damage is illustrated by the official numbers:
- 2,831 buildings were structurally damaged; 31 percent in ruins (880)
- 13 hospitals were destroyed
- An estimated $9-12 billion dollars in damage
- 50,000 city residents were left homeless
- 10,000 people lost their lives

Ladies and gentlemen, the moment we’ve all been waiting for: JLo and Skels are procreating. The deets from In Touch:
It looks like Jenny from the block will soon be playing with baby blocks. In Touch can exclusively reveal that Jennifer Lopez is going to be a mother. “She’s about twelve weeks pregnant,” an insider tells In Touch. “She’s due in the spring.” After years of trying to start a family with husband Marc Anthony, she was finally successful with in vitro fertilization — so successful, in fact, that there’s a possibility she’s having twins! Whether she has one baby or two, “becoming a mother is Jennifer’s dream,” a friend says. “She’s over the moon.”
Let’s just hope the baby looks like its mom!
Check out the “baby bump” here.

The BBC reported this morning that hundreds of Peruanos are falling ill after an unknown object fell from the sky this weekend, leaving a huge gas emitting crater. Some speculate that the object that landed near the town of Carancas in the Andes, was a meteor or a fireball. People who visited the scene have been complaining of headaches, vomiting and nausea after inhaling gases. Scientists have been sent to the area to study the crash sight and what remains there.

I’d be remiss (and a bad partner to a Chileno and parent to half Chilean children) if I didn’t wish Chile happy fiestas patrias today. Dance a cueca, have an empanada, and drink some chicha. (And yes I know Peruanos will argue about the origin of all these things, take it up with a Chileno, I just live with one).
We’ve been giving you bits and previews of Circo’s new album Cursi but you don’t have to settle anymore. Today the 14 track third album by the band that defies genres is out and it sounds hot! Last week I had a chance to talk to lead singer Fofé, who is from pretty near from where mu abuelo is from in Puerto Rico. Hopefully we’ll have the audio from the interview soon (technology be damned). But Fofé did tell me that the album features some hot producers who have worked with big English language musical acts. He also told me that he was fine with the band’s music not fitting into one tight little genre. That it was more important for them to be true to their musical tastes, integrating many influences. The album is meant to be accessible to all, with universal themes such as falling in and out of love.
You can check out Circo’s Cursi on iTunes and in music stores.
