Ever wonder how celebs get their eyelashes to look so long and luscious? The answer isn't mascara, but fake lashes -- the kind that is causing a stir in Spain, after consumers complained to the national consumer protection agency about Penelope Cruz's deceitful lashes:
Cosmetics company L'Oréal has modified its Telescopic Mascara commercial featuring Penelope Cruz and has admitted that [the lashes] are fake, according to a press release distributed by FACUA [Spain's Federation of Consumers in Action].Back in July, the UK's Advertising Standards Authority said that the ad was misleading, though L'Oreal claimed that the use of fake lashes was a standard practice. Since then, FACUA has been advocating for L'Oreal to add a disclaimer to the commercial stating that Pe's lashes were a fake-out.In the commercial, the actress appears on a balcony with a telescope and says, "Imagine, lashes that can reach the stars," and now in the spot being broadcast in Spain, at the bottom of the screen there will be a message that says "commercial done with lash inserts," it adds.
