As if she really needed it, JLo just received a nominal drop in the bucket — $545,000 — from ex-husband and current nobody Ojani Noa because of his plans to write a tell-all book, reports People magazine:
The award was revealed Monday when Lopez’s attorney, Paul Sorrell, filed court papers asking a Los Angeles Superior Court judge to confirm the decision in a hearing scheduled for Sept. 5.The decision would put an end to Noa’s plans to publish the book, which was to be titled The Unknown Truth: A Passionate Portrait of a Serial Thriller.
Noa’s book was to detail his first sexual encounter with Lopez, as well as claims that the singer had multiple affairs while they were married.
Mr. Noa should pay punitive damages for even thinking up that horrid title, say I.
Noa was bitten in the butt by a settlement he signed after his divorce from JLo in which is promised to not disclose details of their relationship or attempt to profit from it.

An article I read today over at Colorlines nearly knocked me off my seat in front of my computer but upon reflection it makes a hell of alot of sense. Daisy Hernandez starts her piece with a shocking statement (to me anyway):
I don’t read blogs.
It feels like something I should whisper to a priest in a confessional booth. I could make the sign of the cross and blurt out: “I don’t watch television. I’ve only been on YouTube once. I don’t own a cell phone that has…a keyboard.”
As a person who spends a good part of her life blogging, looking for things to blog, and reading things that other people blog this is a hard concept for me to fathom but then Daisy reminds us that:
Just because people aren’t iChatting doesn’t mean that information’s not moving in our communities.
After an insane day dealing with the NYC transit system (seriously people , three inches of rain shuts the whole thing down and 24 hours later in my ‘hood of Queens , the subways still aren’t up 100%)a little music is in order to put it all in perspective. Manu Chao is coming out with a new album in less than a month (September 4th).
