Two Cuban boxers , Guillermo Rigondeaux y Erislandy Lara, defected during the Pan American Games in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, last month. This morning the two were detained by Brazlilian authorities thanks to an anonymous tip.

The boxers’ foreign accents and way of behaving, as well as Erislandy Lara’s gold teeth, had attracted attention of residents in the beach area of Praia Seca in Araruama, police said.

Both will be returned to Cuba where I am certain they will receive a less than warm welcome home. At least they weren’t sent to the Congo, right?
